64k Mile: 1969 Ford Bronco
Here is a rare sight. An unmolested 1969 Ford Bronco with 64,000 miles. The Bronco was bought to be shipped to Argentina but when the seller found out the cost of shipping and customs, this one gets to stay in the good old USA. You can see additional pictures of this Bronco here on eBay where it has been bid to $22,800 with 2 days remaining in the auction. The Bronco is located in the foothills of Los Angeles, California.
Ford replaced the 289 cubic inch V8 powerplant with the 302 cubic inch V8 motor as the top engine option for 1969. The base engine for the Ford Bronco was the 170 cubic inch inline six cylinder. This Bronco is shifted using a column shifted 3 speed manual transmission. The four wheel drive selector is mounted on the floor board.
The white interior looks very nice as does the overall condition of the Bronco. There is some rust on the underside as well as the bottom of the doors. The truck was repainted at some point prior to the current seller’s ownership. Two years ago, the seller installed a new battery, alternator, bumpers, dashboard, floor covering, weatherstripping and visors.
With the odometer reflecting 64,000 miles, the V8 under the hood and the body not being modified, this looks like an good honest driver. With bidding in the low $20,000 range, the final sales price could creep a bit higher for this nice example of a 1969 Ford Bronco.

Really clean and the motor change doesn’t seem to ever bother the price point!! I have a 67 and the transfer case was a weird setup and prevented me from changing it to a V-8 some years back!! I can’t remember what the problem was but I put another 6 cylinder back in the truck!!
What makes you think the engine in this one isn’t original?
My mistake I read the article wrong!! I thought it said the 170 was replaced!! I stand corrected!!!
Could it be difference in shaft dimension or number of splines between trans/ T-case on the I-6 vs V8 versions…? Anyway, nothing wrong with an I-6 in a truck!😁
Nothing personal, but I checked these out in 1973. I instead bought a Jeepster Commando which I still have. I passed on the Bronco for one simple reason. Although I liked the V8, the vehicle was a POS then and it still is by my standards. The Commando on the other hand was bullet proof!
If this guy just bought this Bronco for his friend in Argentina, wouldn’t that mean he is well versed in the insanity of their market? Why not go crazy on the presentation and documentation to make sure you’re attracting all the potential bidders? Car seems too good to be true, which it probably is.
here’s another “I can agree with” (no weird seats, dash, steer w. or column, alu radiator, etc). But ’69? probably not. Who cares? (no eyebrow grill, hood/windshield clip, ?on the pull out window frames and so on). W/all that has transpired there is no ‘numbers matching’ for these. Again, hope the price stays about here – reasonable (mid teens is right, but those daze R long gone).
The ac housing might B from a jeep (an i6 model as well) & could B oil filled rather than paper. Wonder what that re-spray is all about? Won’t last long on the pass’s fresh air vent (under hood) as it’s plastic & this must be for metal. Kinda sprayed it around w/o alota metal repair 1st…
I like it as much as the red nxt 2 it on our list. No garish ‘upgrades’. Just fix the leaking transfer (or wherever) and rear end and drive (for now). 8^ )

I wouldn’t call it unmolested – VIN calls out a U14 half cab originally,
which means the bulkhead was removed and a full top installed in place of the half cab.
Wonder what happened to the front side marker lights and 302 badges?

Decent condition for someone to buy & enjoy (for now) & then possibly restore (or resell for a tidy profit) later.
(I like these 1st gen Broncos. But the prices for them has become ridiculous. I’ll just stick with my Jeep CJs for now…….) :-)
