The Chevy Impala was in its fourth generation by 1967 and the Super Sport continued to be a strong contributor to its sales volume. Redesigned two years earlier, the Impala set an industry annual sales record of more than one million units in 1965. The new body featured curved, frameless side glass in pillarless models with a sharper angled windshield with newly reshaped vent windows. This ’67 SS has been out of circulation for more than 20 years and has accumulated its fair share of rust during that time. But it will run with some gas injected into the carburetor. Chevrolet wouldn’t repeat the same sales success in 1967 that it had two years before, but they still sold 650,000 Impalas. That included 76,000 SS models which were still a separate series. This seller’s Tuxedo Black SS is equipped with Chevy’s 396 cubic-inch big-block V8 with a TH-400 automatic transmission. But we’re not told if the drivetrain is original to the car. Somehow the factory Protecto-Plate and dealer invoice have survived which may tie it all together. With a little coaxing, the car will run, but we don’t know if it will move on its own. The seller has had the car for about three years.

Rust is rampant on this fastback, especially with the trunk and passenger floors that have holes big enough to see through. And both the front bucket seats and rear bench are missing. It was a factory A/C car though we’re not sure if any of it will work again. The odometer reads 89,000 miles which could be accurate given that the car likely hasn’t run since the 20^th Century. Hagerty estimates that a ’67 Impala is worth close to $30,000 in top-notch condition, and the SS designation and 396 V8 should drive that number up. Get ready to roll up your sleeves on this one!
