375 Horsepower 1935 Dodge Sedan Delivery!
Once upon a time, delivery trucks weren’t really trucks. Rebodied sedans with toughened-up suspension were sufficient, and today’s listing is one of those more interesting examples. Complete with modern enhancements like air conditioning, tilting steering wheel, a Dana rear axle, and a Mopar 440 under the butterfly hood, you can haul around whatever you need, just like it’s 1935. Inside, there are two leather bucket seats, sound deadening on the floor, modern gauges, and a tilting steering wheel. The eagle-eyed viewer will recognize that steering column from basically every American car built between the years 1965 and 2000. My 1995 Wrangler had that exact steering column. So did my 1999 Oldsmobile. And my grandma’s 1985 LeSabre. And my 1992 Riviera. And basically every resto-mod you’ll run into at any car show. It may not be original, but not much on this truck is original, save the body. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, so to speak.
And it ain’t broke. Who cares about a steering column when the original body is this cool and this clean? The “humpback” styling is painted in a lovely vintage shade of green with electrician’s markings on the sides. If you buy this for your business, I’m sure it’d be just as easy as finding some dollar store paint and writing your own information on the side for that vintage aesthetic. The seller includes the above image to look inside, and it’s really just a blank slate for you to do with as you please. That’s one of the main things I love about old commercial vehicles; they’re really designed to be as versatile as possible, and this gives you lovely hardwood backing to work from.
Under the butterfly hood powering this is a Mopar 440 four-barrel V-8, making 375 horsepower, according to the seller. Really, when buying old cars, all you really need to care about is if the previous owner appreciated it and cared for it the way it should be appreciated and cared for. That’s why the mythical old lady only driving her car to church on Sundays for forty years is so revered. This truck has been significantly modified, but it’s been cared for and restored in a way that brings character and new life to an old workhorse. This would be just at home on the dragstrip as it would be parked as a billboard outside your small business. Or preferably both.

Lots of potential here. Minus the pea-green wheels.
While the color can be debated, the wheels were actually an automotive triumph. They were called “artillery wheels”, and before these, it was wood spokes and wire wheels. Not sure what relation they had to the military, perhaps someone knows, but resembled spokes, but a lot tougher. All the companies offered them, I read. Being artillery, they were all painted green.
They’re were called Artillery wheels because if you look at old war pictures that’s the style of wheel that was on old time Artillery pieces ,cannons, and other military equipment
So cool and still understated. It’s perfect. Minus the slide-bolt to hold the driver’s door closed…
That’s the passenger door.
Both doors sport those slide locks. For a frame off (well actually a body transplant) you’d figure you’d get working latches.
This looks like a very nice build. Curious about the suspension. Does it 50 bags of cement in the back, looks like it is going to break the springs. It would obviously be a great truck , especially if stays close to the $ number it is at now.

Sorry to disappoint you but this is not a Dodge. It is a Dodge Brothers and was until ’39 I believe. If you see one of these cars or panel trucks, sedan deliveries ck out the radiator emblem.
Ebay listing says in part: “Original paint . . . Full restoration”.

They ran out of gas monkey money at the interior. Serious potential but the wheel color is hideous, and not what it rolled in on.

In my opinion the color is a classy and complimentary color to the body and era.
ALSO, wheels give a vehicle identity, so, when i buy a car i put my taste of wheels on it and give it new identity from previous owner. So, if you dont like the wheels, just as well, choose your own.
But the petty comments on wheel color ??
