302/4-Speed Estate Sale Find! 1969 Ford F-100

Of course, the concept is sad to think about, but estate sales have proven to be great venues to find decades-old vehicles that the owners loved and had no intention of selling during their lifetime.  A case in point is this 1969 Ford F-100 pickup truck, which the current owner purchased from an estate sale and believes it had only two prior owners.  If you’ve been in the market for a nice survivor quality pickup, this 1969 Ford F-100 would be well worth your time to take a look at.  Located in Waukon, Iowa, it can be found here on eBay with a current bid of $5,200.  There’s no reserve so the high bidder has bought themselves a truck.

The seller says that the pickup is very solid and still has the original paint, which he claims has a patina to die for, and as far as patina goes it does look pretty cool.  The current owner purchased the truck to use around his farm and to advertise his business and says it ran and drove great for what he used it for.  The body does have some dings and paint fades, but the owner elected to keep things original.

The F-100 is powered by a 302 cubic inch V8 which is said to run well, with a 4-Speed manual transmission that shifts through all the gears as it should.  The seller says that the truck is a blast to drive, and claims that he gets tons of waves and smiles when he drives it.  The truck could use some carburetor tweaking, and although the brakes do work they are said to feel squishy so they probably need some attention.  The tires are serviceable, but not new.

The interior is said to look good for a survivor, and for its age and especially being a work truck that certainly seems like a reasonable assessment.  The radio is still in the dash but doesn’t work, nor does the gas gauge, but the other instruments seem to be functioning.  Windshield wipers and lights are said to work great.  The dash pad has some sun cracks and the seats are beginning to show some wearing and tearing, but overall things are looking pretty respectable and decent inside.  The frame and floors are said to be solid, and the only mention of rust is just a few spots here and there in the bed.  Overall this really does look like a nice survivor, and I’m guessing the next owner will be well pleased with his new acquisition.  What are your thoughts on this 1969 Ford F-100 pickup?

These were great trucks in the day. Major problems were bent front twin I beam axles, rotted out body to frame mounts under the firewall location and heavy rot behind the seats near the floor pan on each side.. This is a good investment if you want a decent daily driver and work on it now and again to make it special.. Nice find.

The video the seller provides is worth watching and listening to, great music and presentation. I expect these bump-side Fords to surpass Chevys in the near future. Looks and sounds like the exhaust manifold bolts have seized and some twisted off, very common on old Ford engines. At $6678 now with 7 hours to go! Nice survivor and I’m trying to talk myself out of bidding on this one!

I had a 1971 almost identical to this, 3 on the tree, same color & similar interior (if I recall correct). Loved that truck! Mine was a 302 also. Shoulda kept it! I had a great time driving it around Milwaukee, pretending I was a redneck lol.
