1 Owner and Numbers-Matching: 1969 Chevrolet Corvette
A complete redesign was in store for the Chevrolet Corvette in ’68, with the C3 featuring an all-new body for the third-generation cars that carried the ‘Vette all the way through 1982. Not many changes were made the following year to the 1969 model on the outside, but the small block displacement increased a bit from 327 to 350 cubic inches. If you’ve been looking for a well-preserved late sixties example, this 1969 Chevrolet Corvette here on eBay has a history that can be traced all the way back to its earliest days, as it’s a one-owner vehicle with the factory drivetrain still intact. This one’s located in Groveland, Florida, not far from Orlando, with bidding having reached $25,356 so far.
The seller mentions that it’s kind of hard to find a factory Monza Red Corvette with the red interior, and while it’s not specified whether or not this one is still wearing the factory finish, the paint is said to shine up beautifully and there are no cracks or dings in the body. The owner goes so far as to say the C3 is now in perfect or showroom condition, a pretty tall order for a 50+-year-old vehicle, but it does present well from every angle we can see outside, although it could use an additional “T” on the rear panel. We’re even told the pictures don’t do the car justice, and that it’s jaw-dropping to see in person.
The red interior compliments the outside nicely on these cars, and things inside don’t disappoint either. The seller states that there are no tears or rips, with the worst blunder I could find is the weatherstripping on the driver’s side door has pulled loose, probably a 15-minute repair. It that’s the original carpet, it’s still looking decent too, and a good testament that this one has been given a lot of love over its lifetime. There’s also both a hard top and a soft top, with the former ensuring this car is also a comfortable driver even on rainy days.
Under the hood is the numbers-matching 350, and while it’s the big blocks that seem to garner more attention these days, even the standard 350 got the buyer 300 horsepower right out the door, plus the small blocks are pretty easy to live with for daily driver, which is how the owner says he uses his Corvette. The engine is stated as having no smoke, leaks, or unusual knocking sounds, plus it starts right up and runs excellently. The 4-Speed is said to be a factory component as well.
We just get one shot from the underside, which does show some surface rust but the seller says it’s in excellent original condition down below, as is the birdcage, so hopefully there won’t be any structural issues outside or inside. The one thing that’s mentioned as needing attention is the tires, which are old and in need of replacement, but that’s a pretty minor issue if nothing else is standing in the way of this Corvette being ready to function as the second owner’s daily driver. What are your thoughts on this red-on-red 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray?

What’s not to like about this one? Nice.
I think they meant to say not in place of now. “Car is now showroom or perfect condition It’s a 55 year old car that’s in great shape “
Yep. I caught that too.
It looks to be a nice car. With all the corrosion under the hood I would be giving the underside a thorough look. Plus, I can’t help but think it may have a musty odor inside.
It is from Florida…
A 55 year old with 61,000 miles that is a daily driver. Huh? Despite that BS claim, this is a beauty of a great year Corvette and my favorite color combo. If I didn’t have a mint 73 Corvette in my garage already, this would be enroute to Pennsylvania, where I live. The L46 engine is one of the best performers GM ever made. High compression but no solid lifters to adjust. Too bad you’re gonna VP Race gas to drive this as 93 octane won’t cut it.
Convert with A/C, three pedals, nice color in and out. Just a sweet driver.
I think that the $30,415 currently bid on this car is about all it is worth.
Best parts are the 350/350 with AC and the auxiliary hard top.
Lots of humidity in Florida. Not unusual to see some surface rust. But, original paint and original owner….wow
Fix some weather stripping and purchase a set of tires. How easy can this purchase be!!!!
Love every inch of this 1st year C3, I wouldn’t change a single thing, simply gorgeous!
