1956 Aston Martin Lagonda: Smooth Sedan
It might not be one of the breath taking DB series, but I find this Lagonda to be rather beautiful. It has more of a Jaguar look to it than the Aston styling that became so famous as the result of the Bond films, yet is classy and attractive in its own way! Even being in pieces and in rough shape, the long grille opening and smooth lines make this project look better than it probably really is. The seller admits they had planned on restoring it, but life has gotten in the way and it’s time to let it go to a good home where it will hopefully be finished. They state that they have most of the pieces for it except the engine. Finding a replacement could be a challenge, but perhaps someone knows of a Lagonda engine they would be willing to part with. If you are willing to finish this project, you can find it here on eBay UK in Wythall Birmingham, England. I love the seller’s statement, “this historic vehicle would pay off in either monetary value or even better a smile on your face behind the wheel”. So would restoring this Aston bring a smile to your face?

I absolutely love these cars, but the lack of an engine (no doubt in some DB now) would stop me from taking it on. (never mind the price and shipping!). Hope someone rescues it!
This is the carcass of a parts car, with all the pricey stuff, unfortunately already stripped off…no thank-you….:)
cheers….JeffH
I know some will cry sacrilege but this is a candidate for modern running gear, engine & transmission.
Greetings All,
The rear quarter view looks too much like a Jaguar MKX/420G.
Missing an engine?
Definitely a candidate for a different pewerplant but doubt it will reflect that in the sales price.
The car was recovered from a hedge close to Abbey Farm, near Birmingham in the last few months.
Before anyone jumps in, the car does not come with its correct AM DB2 4-speed gearbox, it has a later Ford gearbox.
The original LB6 3.0 litre engine is no doubt being used in an Aston Martin DB2/4
The decent looking red front seats, come from a Jaguar.
So what have you got , a rotten set of floor pans, decent body panels, and rolling chassis based on a cruciform and of course a V5 with the car ID.
This is at best a parts car. Current owner started out with £16,500 for his asking price, now at £7,000, it will still not sell, much to expensive.
These cars are very expensive to restore, and the valuable missing engine/gearbox cost serious bucks to replace.
