1979 Mini Van Barn Find In England
We love seeing barn finds from all over the globe and while we are based here in the States, we try our best to find good homes for any barn find we hear about! Well this find that reader Tom R discovered over in England needs a new home. Here is what Tom has to say about it – Hi. Please have a look at my 1979 Mini Van I purchased from the garage it has been sitting in for 25 plus years! I bought her and have her out of the garage, but quite simply it is too much of a restoration for me but I guess somebody out there would be very interested. This really does look like a big project, but then again it’s a Mini. I could see this being a fun little rally car or neat delivery vehicle and that’s the beauty of a Mini, they are just so versatile! So if you are in Europe and would love to save this Mini or if you don’t mind importing this Van, be sure to send Tom an email here at [email protected]. Special thanks to Tom for sharing and I wish him luck finding a good home for this Mini!

Wow… Doesn’t look too bad from behind but when you see the whole car, the wonder about why he is trying to shift it on ends. Personally it looks like a parts car to me now.
I didn’t think anybody restored mini vans. Now I am wondering if I schold park my 15 year old wind star sel in a barn. It has all matching numbers tranny is starting to go and it is well optioned with little rust. The motor runs strong interior is all their with less than 100000 miles.
Haha, sorry it’s not that kind of minivan. It’s a Morris Mini with the “van” body. I’m not sure we will ever see the day when minivans are considered to be collectible, but you never know! I grew up riding around in an Aerostar minivan and I have some pretty fond memories of it, so maybe they will go the way of station wagon.
Look at prices of good Minivans in Uk. Not only rare, as most ended their days like this one, but expensive. This would take a lot of work to sort out the bodywork, but mechanicals are easy and inexpensive. With this one you are most likely buying a VIN or a parts vehicle, but you might also be starting a long project….with great joy at the end.
Might be worth something if there was a market for recycling iron oxide.
Ive just bought this and will be undergoing a full, no expense spared body restoration on a jig. Not the end of the road for this van!
mine isn’t as rusty………..from 1975
……and last week
Lucky for some.. I could have bought a more solid one for a bit more money but I want the satisfaction of rebuilding this.
I understand…….just showing mine off!……….good luck on your project………cheers!
