1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 4-Speed Convertible!
Update 3/10/20 – This Chevelle has been relisted here on eBay. This one needs to be saved but the seller needs to be realistic with their pricing too…
From 7/28/19 – This 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport Convertible is an unrestored two-owner 57,230-mile car. It is not in the best shape, but hopefully, it was well-loved when it was in use. You have the chance to become the third owner by bidding on it here on eBay. The car is located in Oakland, Maryland and has a clear title and VIN listed.
The listing says that the car has the original 396 cubic inch, 325 horsepower V8 engine, connected to a 4-speed Munci manual transmission. It has a 3.73 limited slip differential and a 12-bolt rear end. There are some slightly confusing notes in the listing, but there does appear to be maintenance records for the car up until 55,409 miles that were accumulated in 1975. There is also a portion of the build sheet that was found.
The car is equipped with power steering, power brakes, power top, and bucket seats. Sadly, the current owner, who bought it in 1986, hardly ever drove it, and parked it on jack stands in 1999 on a concrete slab. No information is listed on whether or on the car was covered all these years, but listing notes that the car will need a total restoration. Based on the interior photos, that is going to be quite the task.
There is really nothing left of the floorboards and there is a huge hole in the convertible roof. It is sad to think that a car so loved for 10 years has wasted away to this condition 40 years later. Again, the listing is slightly confusing on who owned what when, but one thing is certain. Someone needs to become the third owner and give this car either a proper restoration or a proper burial.

I wouldn’t trust the seller/owner. In his description claims it’s a one owner car, then later on says he’s owned it since 1986. You can’t have it both ways, except when you are trying to run a game on potential buyers.
The log book, which is claimed to verify mileage, has no postings for four years. The next to last entry is in 1971 with 30,xxx miles, then there is one more entry in 1975 which shows 55,xxx miles. However, he does show the most common form of proof in ads, a picture of the speedometer.
In the near future I’d bet this cars VIN will likely wind up on another body.

thanks for saying what I had planned to say–another “flippin’ flipper find”!
sad to see such a cool car in this condition. Clean the dang interior. I’d bet this beauty spent some time under water. up to 11 large and hasn’t hit reserve. Good luck to the new owner. Such a waste.
Cheers

It’s certainly the one you want, but this one is not the one you want. $11 grand and counting. Move on.
Good to see such love was taken on jack stands with an old top in the elements .
I guess the rain washed outside and inside to help it deteriorate.
Geeze .. let me rust out then hope for close to 20k….
The car’s decrepit state, plus the ambiguous description, raise a few red flags. I would be surprised if the reserve is met.
Seems their is always a fool some where. Yes it needs alot of work. I,D PASS FOR THE PRICE –WORK AND THE PRICE OF PARTS.
The seller certainly went all out to prep the car for sale, now didn’t he? Anyone this lazy, or lacking in brain power is probably not someone I want to do business with. Which is a bit of shame, because this could be one seriously nice car. Assuming you have a dumpster full $100.00 bills to spend.
Would love to have a go at this , If I could get it for 1500 – 2500 I could make a go of it .
I just restored one of these in worse shape than this one, but was conned on E-bay into thinking it was just a repaint. You can easily sink close to 100 G’s into this car and it will be worth 60.
Is that really a 396? Cant tell from that view.
Why put it on jack stands then sit there drinking beer and watch it rot away! Will never understand peoples thought processes
Why you ask…..? It saves those precious tires and those stupid S-10 or Cutlass wheels he them mounted on.
Ahhhh, there is method to his madness😜
Owner used it to drive around the yard? Obviously it is totally worn out, and probably no maintenance for over a decade. Would cost well over 100K to bring it back. The interior alone is destroyed due to water intrusion!
It’s a 50 year old car – glad it survived – if it was west coast it wold most likely already been turned in for their clean air cause for Nancy………
To be eligible, the car needs to have current registration. Besides, she’s a member of Congress, the program you are likely referring to is run by the state. I’m no fan of hers, but if someone is going to throw shade, it should be accurate.

Thanks for the correction….so I .guess the state and Congress representative have no interaction.
I sent a question to him through eBay about the one owner status and can post his remark below. I’m not sure I would trust anything else he would talk about either

If you run a history on the car, it will come back with one owner. I have never titled the car in my name. If you want to consider it a two owner car, feel free to. It won’t hurt my feelings.
Wow @Mikey8. That’s even worse. History shows one owner, so this seller either sat on it for years waiting for the cash to roll in or as has been stated….a flippin flipper of the worst variety.
And he left it sit like that for so many years.
Such a waste
A 4 speed big block car!! A convertible too!! What a shame!! It hurts my eyes to look at a car in this condition!! How do you let it get so bad???
Freakin OKIES
Hey, Hey, I resemble that remark😂😂

16k and 0 bids. I think he’s about 12k high…
For some reason I think this car is even worse than it looks. $25k Buy It Now? Wow.
10Gs TOPS
Someone actually bought it? That’s one rough helmet.
There should be a special place in that hot spot down below for people who let cars like this rot!!!
I’m old enough to remember dragging old cars like this home for a few hundred dollars. While I would get a few sideways looks from the wife, I can only guess her reaction if I dragged this rotten thing home for 15 GRAND! The divorce would cost me more than the restoration.
Car is a piece of junk
love those one owner s-10 wheels on the front
