1969 GMC C1500 Survivor
GM trucks have been a staple of American society for as long as there have been trucks. The second generation of the C/K series trucks are some of the most iconic GM trucks ever built, and have only recently been sought after by collectors. In many parts of the United States, it isn’t uncommon to see these on an almost daily basis still putting in work for small businesses and farms. These trucks are everything most people need a truck for, and nothing they don’t! This 1969 GMC is in fantastic original condition with mostly original paint, none of the usual rust, and a like-new interior. The odometer reads 66,798 which seems reasonable given the condition. Find it here on eBay in Idaho with bidding at $2,280 and reserve not met. Thanks to Matt W. for sending this one in!
The interiors of these trucks were built to last, but were no match for the rough conditions many truck owners put them through. This truck appears to have lived a fairly easy life, likely seeing mostly light duty usage and plenty of care. It is a little hard to see in this photo, so I recommend checking out the original ad, but “The specially selected vinyl upholstery is fashioned like tooled leather to give the cab interior an unusually handsome look.” Admittedly, the style of the bench does give this truck a different look than most similar GM trucks of this era. The dash isn’t cracked, and there steering wheel is still in one piece, which indicates that this truck hasn’t been subjected to harsh sun on a regular basis.
The engine is a Chevrolet 350 V8, which is said to be well-maintained. To quote the ad, “This truck is ready for daily driving. New radiator and gas tank were also fitted to the truck.” I would find it hard to believe that the engine hasn’t been repainted, but given the seemingly low mileage of this truck it is possible that a detailing brought it to this shine.
This truck isn’t 100% original, but it is original enough to satisfy most buyers. The hood and top of the bed have been repainted due to scratches but seem to match the rest of the truck well. There is no rust or body filler anywhere and the rest of the truck is original paint. The carpet has been replaced, but the interior is otherwise original. The wheels and wheel covers are also original. Other than the aforementioned repairs and basic maintenance/wear items, this is a nice original truck that seems like an honest purchase!

Obvious over spray on the manifolds, and the rusty valve cover tabs stand out. Overspray on a fitting at the back of the motor as well. They were careful enough to strip it down otherwise to paint the motor though. Nice truck but makes one wonder about originality.
Good-looking old truck but definitely the engine is almost certainly a three-coat rebuild.
Contrary to how it is advertised, that seat cover is also a repop.
The more I look at it, the more I’m ready to call bs on the sellers originality claim. This is a nicely restored truck.
This one is great! Can’t think of anything I’d change on it. Just light it, drive it, and have a great time. Sometimes these are the best choices you can have. You don’t have to un-butcher it….
Somebody started out with a really nice survivor and spruced it up a bit to get a couple more dollars out of it. I’d do the same.
I had a 72 long bed for many years and loved it. The LS engine I dropped in it may have had something to do with it.
Hay people be careful with this one the ⛽ gas tank is behind the seat that why they stop making this truck
Meh, the gas tank behind the seat is literally the last thing I would worry about on these trucks. All things considered, the tank in the cab is probably the safest place for it. About the worst thing about it back there is hearing the gas slosh around.
I’ve owned a bunch of early Jeeps, & the driver seat set right on top of the tank up until the early 70’s.
The engine has def been painted and not well, The paint is flaking off the passenger side head, overspray on the battery ground cable and manifolds. It would bring more money if people just left that stuff alone! it obviously stands out and makes one wonder what else and why.
