1990 Lamborghini Countach With Only 255 Miles!

Disclosure: This site may receive compensation from some link clicks and purchases.

The Lamborghini Countach is undoubtedly one of the most significant Lamborghini ever produced, and also one of the most important sports cars ever made, period. The Countach needs no introduction here as it was as celebrated for its styling as it was for its performance. The scissor doors, deep dish wheels, and numerous air vents and ductwork scream the 80s like few other cars ever have, and as such, the car collector world is scooping up as many of these poster cars as possible given its long-term value projections. This 25th Anniversary model listed here on eBay has just 255 original miles and is effectively “as new.”

The 25th Anniversary Countach was a swan song for Lamborghini, and in many ways, was the end of an era. While the Diablo still had some of that 80s mojo, it was clearly part of a new era. And the era that came after the Diablo was even more of a dramatic departure. The Countach was wild and obnoxious and sensual, all wrapped into one expensive shell of a car that could deliver blistering performance. The Countach was the sort of vehicle that made you feel like being an adolescent all over again and craving every excess you could think of. It was the anti-maturity car, the one that told you it was OK to never grow up.

But in some ways, the 25th Anniversary model was a bit more grown up, fitted with an improved air conditioning system that could actually keep up with the heat generated by the massive V12 behind your head, and a refined interior with leather surfaces everywhere you looked. The color-coordinated steering wheel is a nice touch as well. The seller’s car really is as new-in-the-wrapper as a car can get, with well under 300 miles and no evidence of abuse or prior damage. This Countach has a few other tricks up its sleeve besides the low mileage, including a rare “spoiler” delete option and the “downdraft”, carbureted engine, which is the one even Doug DeMuro pined for when buying his own Countach.

The 5.2L V12 engine was an engineering marvel, capable of projecting the winged supercar to 60 in 4.7 seconds and onwards to a top speed of 183 miles per hour. Not bad for the late 80s! The listing notes the presence of numerous details that are typically associated with low mileage survivors, such as grease marks on the suspension and the factory jack still wrapped in plastic. This Countach will likely never be driven as too much of its value is wrapped up in its low mileage. Still, as a timepiece, a car like this is hard to top, and it’s still a showstopper even when parked.

Cars like this – that will never see road usage – in addition to an odometer, should have an hour meter so that you know that the engine had been started regularly, keeping hoses fresh and oil circulated.

Why not drive it?Take it out and really stretch it’s legs every once in a while, would turn heads everywhere you.If i had the kind of money to buy this i wouldn’t care about racking up miles on it,maybe even make it a daily driver. This Lambo isn’t exactly a super rare musclecar. But from what i understand driving one of these around in regular city traffic is somewhat a challenge as these are really made for high speed driving, not cruising the boulevard…

I doubt it will meet the reserve on Ebay, at least it is not on Craig’s List.

The immediate red flag is that it’s listed on eBay; a special car like this should’ve been listed on Hemmings. I remember seeing Wayne Carini back up an ’86 and he had to open the door just to see where he was backing up to. At least you don’t need to open the door to back up a Ferrari or Vette.

I always like watching exotics like this and the fellas that can mostly afford them. Many cannot even drive them and the fire department with the jaws of life is needed to get them out. These never excited me, yes it’s beautiful. It has a wonderful sound but the headaches that accompany this makes me think of that old song. ” You want to be happy marry an ugly wife”. I guess the 5.0 rag and the crotch rocket will have to do.

WOW I thought I was on Barn Finds and not showroom finds, the room this car sits in is nicer than most peoples homes. Why would someone advertise a quarter million dollar car (below the reserve) on Barn Finds when there’s Mechum, Barrett Jackson and others.

These cars blew our minds when we first saw them. Absolutely outrageous and the coolest things we had ever seen. Anybody remember the opening scene of Cannonball Run?

Ron Rice of Hawaiian Tropic fame lived locally and owned two of these, one red and one black, and on occasion we would see him cruising them down Daytona Beach with the doors kicked up with a couple Hawaiian Tropic hotties jammed into the passenger seat.

If I remember correctly… the color of this Lambo is nearly the same color as Farah’s swimsuit. I think I had posters of both Farah and this Lambo on my wall. Some beauty is timeless and way beyond the eye of the beholder?

This is more like having the super model, and not touching her to save her for the next guy
