READER AD: 1994 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup

Disclosure: This site may receive compensation from some link clicks and purchases.

For the past 10 years, this Chevrolet Silverado has been parked waiting to be revived and put back to work. It’s not perfect but is a nice driver again and with a $4,800 asking price, it seems like it could be worth a closer look. It’s equipped with all the features needed to be a daily driver or as a comfortable work truck. You can take a closer look at Larry’s ad via the link below.

Under the hood is a 350 V8 that is paired to an automatic. Things are looking a little dirty under the hood, but that could be fixed with a little work. The air conditioning is said to blow cool and that the engine runs well. Larry notes that there is rust in the rocker panels and cab corners. A closer inspection to see how severe it is and what it will take to fix.

The interior is dirty from being parked but looks like it would clean up well. You can see that it’s still equipped with its original stereo. The options list on this one includes, power steering, power brakes, power windows, tilt steering wheel and the extended cab.

The rust issues will definitely need further investigating, but Larry is forthcoming with the truck’s flaws and would be more than happy to show the truck. If the rust isn’t too severe, it could prove to be a great parts hauler. It isn’t quite old enough to be deemed a classic, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be in a few more years. And given how plentiful parts are for these, it actually shouldn’t be difficult finding anything and everything needed to make it a pristine truck again. Heck, you can probably find most everything for it at the junkyard!

I have an old ranch truck that used to belong to TV actor Jack Klugman. Its a 1990 C2500, and I have to tell ya, 90% of the parts I have needed to get, I go to my local Pick-a-Part. I’ve even bought factory original used parts and accessories or options if you will. Prices are cheap and granted I’ve had to clean up or polish some thing’s, but for the amount of money I have spent and the way the truck looks today its just crazy. So check your local junkyard first.

Great source for searching is http://www.car-part.com as it pulls in the inventory from hundreds (thousands? ) of yards across North America. It’s come to my rescue a few times over the years, and saves a lot of leg work.

I could almost certainly find a rust-free round body 2WD out West, have it shipped to Michigan, and get it in good driving order for about $4,000. Patience would be required, though, as I’d want a regular cab and a 5-speed.
