Tom Cotter’s New Book: 50 Shades of Rust
If you are into cars and read books on occasion, then there is a good chance you have heard of Tom Cotter’s Cobra In The Barn series. A while back, in collaboration with Tom, we even ran many of the stories from his books right here on the site. Well, many of you may not have known that he has a new book out and it’s called 50 Shades of Rust. The title may not be as catchy, but the stories inside are just as good. In fact, a couple of them were sourced from us! When we were running stories from his past books, we also held a competition to see who could send in the best barn find story. Many good ones were submitted, but winner was the Thorndyke Special! It’s in the new book along with dozens of other fascinating discoveries. You can pick up your own copy here on Amazon or at your local bookstore.
When you receive your copy be sure to take a look at the back cover. Do you recognize anything? That’s right, the publisher was kind enough to give us credit for the story and they even printed the Barn Finds logo on the dust cover! I’m not sure how many people will even see it back there, but it sure was a nice gesture. Be sure to keep sending in your own stories because there is no telling when Tom might call up and ask us for a good tall tale!

~ Cannot wait to read another collection of tales on my favorite subject by my current favorite automotive author. Somehow I was fortunate to receive an autographed copy of ‘The Corvette In The Barn’ from Barn Finds and Mr. Cotter which is among my most prized possessions.
Thats very cool I didnt know about the association. I have heard of the books but never read them. I’ll pick this one up for sure.
Congrats on the recognition!
look forward to reading this book. enjoyed the ” in the barn ” books. please keep the books coming.
Got this book as soon as it came out. Highly recommended. Great stories as usual. I just can’t get enough of this stuff!
The “barn find” cartoon on the opening page of “50 Shades” is brilliant! Great book.
Have known Tom Cotter for over 30 years…have a full ” collection ” of all books and find him and his writings extremely informative and also the dash of humor he adds.
