Revived After 35 Years: 1930 Ford Model A Tudor Sedan
After sitting largely forgotten for 35-years after the previous owner passed away, this 1930 Ford Model A has been revived, and it is looking for someone to complete the restoration that was commenced all those years ago. The car is largely complete and is situated in Dansville, Michigan. You will find the classic Ford listed for sale here on eBay with a BIN of $8,500, although the option is available to make an offer.
Finished in its original shade of Lombard Blue, the Ford looks to be in really solid condition. There are no rust issues to be dealt with, and it appears as though sections of the car were on the way to being prepared for a repaint when the owner passed away. The fenders have all been removed, and are currently partially restored. The only items that are missing from the car are the running boards, but reproduction items are readily available if a genuine set can’t be located. Items such as the lights and bumpers do appear to be present, although they currently aren’t attached to the car.
The news under the hood is all pretty good. After more than three decades of inactivity, this Model A did need a little bit of work to get it up and running. This actually proved to be a relatively easy task. Some basic maintenance work, coupled with a full flush of the fuel system, saw the 201ci flathead engine kick into life, and idle quite happily. After a further check, the car now runs, drives, and stops exactly as it should. The owner believes that the engine may have received a rebuild back when the restoration commenced, but can’t be completely sure about this. The only fault that he is able to identify is a leak from the water pump, which might require a rebuild. Otherwise, it sounds like the Ford might be virtually ready to hit the road again.
The interior is definitely serviceable as it currently stands, and it also appears to be complete. The owner claims that the upholstery is original, and while I might agree with him about the majority of the trim items, I believe that the seats may have received new covers at some point. Giving the interior a bit of a “once over,” items such as the wheel look like they have survived quite well, and I don’t think that restoring the interior of the Model A would be a particularly difficult undertaking.
It is pretty impressive to think that a project car like this Model A can sit for as many years as this one has, and survive in such nice condition. It really looks like it wouldn’t take a mountain of work to transform the car into a great little head-turner. For someone who is looking to dip their toe into the waters of car restoration for the first time, this Model A could be a great starting point.

Another great ride!! its cool that the original parts come with the car!! Being there partially restored I guess it would be time to bring the whole car back to new condition!!!
Just add juice brakes and turn signals to
safen it up for driving around town. Wouldn’t drive it.on.I-4 though. Those
folks drive 85-90 MPH out there 24/7.
Last night coming back from Oldtown,
a ricer shot by us doing at least 110
or better. Great start for a project though.
Nice old “A” it would be a shame to cut up such a complete car, we have plenty of those already. It needs to fall in the hands of someone that will restore it. When I first saw the pictures I thought oh no there’s another butchered ford but after reading the add it was nice to see that this car is almost all there.
At least it runs
Get it reassembled and then it will get more interest.
Clean it up, put the parts back on it and drive it! You’ve got a car here you can have some fun with without worrying about scratching the paint and there is room for the family to come along.
I think there are more than enough restored model As to go around,.
