READER AD: 1977 Porsche 911S Targa

Disclosure: This site may receive compensation from some link clicks and purchases.

The seller of this Porsche 911 Targa points out that it mimics the style of Magnus Walker’s 1976 Minerva Blue Turbo Porsche. While it may be a repaint, the color combo is sharp and rarely seen. It’s a rust-free southern car with loads of recent maintenance completed and is listed at no reserve. If you think you’d enjoy owning this 911, be sure to take a closer look via the link below.

What Makes It Special? This is the last year of the narrow Porsche F body (1965-1977). It’s in its original rare paint color (Minerva Blue Metallic) with the original interior.

Body Condition: Repainted in original color Minerva Blue Metallic by prior owner. Solid, no rust example thanks to galvanized steel body panels. The car comes with a complete set of powder coated Fuchs wheels in the same style as the Magnus Walker car. Original tool kit, Bilstein jack, owner’s manual, and warranty manual will come with the car.

Mechanical Condition: Runs great. Original engine and 915 manual transmission have both been rebuilt. The 911 also benefits from new shocks, clutch, fuel tank sender, oil tank sender, oil pressure switch, and CDI box. The car has been lowered to European-specification ride height and corner balanced. Handing is excellent, and tires are new Pirelli P4s.

        “college in the fall”??
Yes, that’s when most punks head back for their boozing.
“College” for whom? his buddy or the flipper’s kid?

Don’t know if it just the contrast of the gold wheels but it looks darker than I remember Minerva Blur being. Nice ride.

TRPIV, it doesn’t look like an auction. It says “Reader’s ad, for sale”, but the ad says “listed at no reserve.” The price listed is so far under the money they have been selling for that something likely isn’t right. But if it’s right, it’s either a “Before it got hit by the truck” picture, or it’s the deal of the century.

The writeup has a link to the sellers eBay auction. The starting bid was $23,000 with no reserve.

It is priced about right. This is a mid-year car, pre SC’s but with the safety bumpers so post long hood cars. Mid-year cars have always been the lowest value air cooled 911’s. Mid 20’s – low 30’s for a driver is the market.

    Hey Barnfinds
What does “Reader Ad” mean? Is this a Barnfinds ad or just a reposting of the Ebay ad? Is $23K the price or is that just what it’s bid to on EBay at the moment? Sorry, but I don’t think I’m the only one scratching my head.
