No mention of the truck cap on the back? It is either ill-fitted, or actually for an El Camino or later Ranchero. Seats are not the originals but look far more comfortable. At the price, I hope this finds a good home. No way this will become a racecar with all that iron oxide hanging off the rear body and probably shock towers/springs.
VIN: F2A48Q184906F
I have even seen this on an official document here in Mexico as the VIN for a car.
I had to laugh.
More interested in the Turbo coupe next to it.
Pretty rare. A Q code 351 Cobra Jet Ranchero!
Greetings All,
My Uncle had one of these which he graciously let me use somewhat regularly to go to college.
Fun car, did not have the cap but had a tonneau. He hated the tonneau but I loved it as it hid the bulk of the rust through in the bed, sides and floor. When asked, my reasoning for its use was to keep the water from coming through and dirtying the rear window.
Had some sport package and a tach.
Can’t say I never sped with it.
Loved the car, at the time he was a Ford man through and through.
There is a last year El Camino sitting in his garage currently, but I liked the lines on this better.
A cap on a ranchero or an el Camino is like wearing ice skates at the beach!!!
Stupid!!!!
Spoken like a man who has never had either one.
And people say the front of an Edsel looks weird and ugly, this looks like a big ol’ whale scooping up a couple of ton of plankton somewhere in the Southern Ocean !!
