Ramp It Up: 1978 Chevrolet Silverado C30 Hauler
Ramp truck! Who wants to be like Finnegan? Up for sale is a 1978 Chevrolet Silverado C30 car hauler at the favorable price of $8,900. This clean title truck with 103,000 miles is located in Hancock/Academy, Colorado Springs. It is used on the regular and has slide out ramps, a custom ladder, and a winch. You can view more on Craigslist.
Around 85,000 miles the engine was replaced. It currently has a well maintained 454 big block with a 3-speed automatic transmission. It does hesitate to get going after coming to a stop. They suggest rebuilding the carburetor to remedy that. Other than that, the truck runs and drives faithfully and has had all the major mechanical work completed.
Inside, the interior does have some wear and tear. That something to be expected for a truck that is 40 years old. The listing mentions that the dashboard is not completely put together. It is something you can work on as you go. Other notes are that the blower motor works at will, a few wires are loose under the dash, and the headliner is sagging.
All necessary equipment for towing a trailer is present. You can also two a car too, it has a sling. If you are looking for a great hauler to take your track toy to race on the weekends. Recently, Hot Wheels released a line called Team Transports, where they have the Snake, from Snake and Mongoose, on a truck. The yellow paint of this truck reminds me of that die-cast.

Love the Finnegan reference :) you just have to have a 55 chevy
Same vintage Camaro dirt car would look good perched up there with a tire rack over the cab. Like back when everyone showed up at the track with their car, a few extra tires & a box of tools rather than an enclosed trailer with their primary car, couple extra engines, backup car & enough tools to equip a garage.
Kinda like how camping isn’t really camping anymore…
This truck looks like the ones used on the TV show CHIPS to launch cars during the crash scenes.
Something fishy here! This should already have been scooped up! Something is spooking buyers for sure! I have no use for it, but I am surprised to see it still posted!
I wonder if it’s the style of tow bed that’s the issue. It definitely is not my first choice. I would prefer a lower flatter bed.
Motorcycles on top, race car, (corvette) on ramp, perfect hauler to favorite vacation spot (Daytona)
looks like a Higgins bed, most commonly used in the past to haul 2 u-haul trailers and tow another behind it. up in the air stance is good for a small car (VW, Pinto,
vega etc. size. not real practical for full size American Iron. (Impala, Galaxie etc)
