Rust-Free 1987 GMC Sierra 1500 4×4 Short Bed
With three days remaining, this short bed 1987 GMC Sierra Classic 1500 pick up has already reached a bid of $11,358. For reference, restored examples typically sell for $15,000 to $25,000. This truck is located in Fruita, Colorado and appears to be in really good condition. In fact, the body and underside appear to be completely rust free. More pictures of the truck can be seen here on eBay. The odometer on this 4WD truck shows 59,952 miles.
1987 was the final year of this body style and the first year for throttle body fuel injection. Both the 305 cubic inch V8 engine and the 350 cubic inch V8 engine were available in 1987. This truck appears to retain its original 350 cubic inch V8 engine (5.7 liter) with throttle body fuel injection backed by a column shifted automatic transmission. Since this is a Sierra Classic edition, it comes with a interior dash accents, carpet and more chrome.
The exterior looks nicer than the interior which was common with the Silverado and Sierra. It was typical to have many of the plastic parts like the dash crack and the door panels to sag and soil easily. The bench seat has a rip on one side and appears to be soiled. All in all, it looks pretty nice. This Sierra Classic model is optioned with power windows, power locks, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes and a sliding rear window.
Painted in a two tone white and blue paint scheme, the truck still has all of its trim, chrome bumper and rally wheels. The bed looks really nice and in excellent shape. The seller believes you can drive this survivor example home. Trucks in this condition, particularly 4×4 models, are rare and don’t come up very often. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this one reach $15,000 to $18,000 given the condition and low mileage.

Comments
The bidding should be far from finished. It’s a desirable body style which is rare when combined with 4wd, is in very good condition plus it’s well optioned. There will be strong interest among enthusiasts, rightfully so.

Great Truck but, the odometer has rolled over at least once, possibly twice (the history report shows 92,291 on 11/25/2001). None the less, nice truck that obviously was well cared for – just way too much money….
@blueovaldru What history report source are you looking at?
I was referencing the Experian AutoCheck history report that is on the Ebay listing page of the truck.
“way too much money… ”
Sure was …..in 2015,before trucks got hot.Nah,not even then.The description is correct ; 15 being a steal and 25 full retail,$20k is the over/under.
Nice square body !
23K umm WOW I know 80’s GM Trucks are hot but WOW. I have a personal interest in “squarbodies” but never thought that their would be crazy interest in them. I am glad I have allot of retirement income in the barns.
I like the K30’s myself and have 5 that I drive on a retirement basis and may never sell them. 82′ K30 Silverado 84′ K30 Silverado 85 K30 Dually Silverado and 2 D30 Military Chevrolets that I bought from the U.S. Government. All in very nice condition. The D30’s only have 44 and 62,000 miles. And the best part is they were reconditioned in 2010 and then basically parked. I have had the 82 since new.
Once I found out the 1 tons were HD and exempt from every retarded law except safety inspection I have bought nothing but. I hope they keep increasing in value.
