Ford’s Special Vehicle Team (SVT) was born in 1993 and focused on performance. Two notable products include the SVT Mustang Cobra and the SVT F150 Lightning. The latter was a “supertruck” that may have been inspired by the 1970s Dodge Lil’ Red Express. This 2002 edition of the F-150 SVT has a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 that was rated at a whopping 380 hp! It’s a two-owner beauty that has under 50,000 miles and is ready to put lots of smiles on the face of a new owner. Located in Dallas, Texas, and available here on eBay through a dealer, the current bid is $20,100.

The second generation of the hottest truck on the market came during the 1999 to 2004 model years. During this time, Ford saw enough demand to build 28,000 copies of the bodacious truck, labeled “Lightning” due to their speed. Nowadays, Ford has applied that moniker to its $90,000 electric trucks. From 2001 forward, this “Lightning” used a Triton 5.4-liter V8 with an Easton supercharger that had gobs of power and torque (450 ft-lbs.). That was enough to do 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds and the quarter mile in under 14 seconds at more than 100 mph. It’s doubtful that many buyers of the SVT Lightning purchased it to haul stuff.

Across just two owners, this truck has probably been to more shows than Home Depot. It has been treated to a lowering kit, a hard bed cover, and a carpeted bed liner. The exhaust is of the custom variety, and new brake pads are on all four corners. It seems to be a well-documented pickup with lots of paperwork. This truck has the Flareside bed which is probably best suited to this fast truck as the amount of storage space in the bed is a bit constricted by the design.

While the body and black paint look good, the interior is a real treat with its leather and cloth-trimmed upholstery on a 40/60 split bench seat (with a jumper to accommodate three passengers in a pinch). There is no storage behind the seats as the SVT used the F-Series regular cab combined with a short-wheelbase chassis, no doubt to reduce weight to help with speed.
