Success Story: Datsun Roadster Shipped Off!
Last month we featured a 1967 Datsun 1600 and the seller just let us know that it sold through the site. They were very pleased with the experience and the car is going to an enthusiast who plans to run it in the next Snowball Rally! Here it is in Jim’s own words, Hey guys! It went great, the buyer is fantastic and it was super smooth. I’m so glad I turned to the BF community to sell the car. Next stop will be my charger – I am selling that as well (1970 440). I will send that along when I get everything together! Here are some shots of it being loaded and taken away! Thank you all again!
If you have a success story about buying or selling a car here on Barn Finds, please let us know!

Awesome news! Well done all around!
What a great experience, and thank you again so much for the help in finding a perfect buyer for the car.
I’ll say it here: if you have a vintage car to sell, trust BF to make it happen for you in a way that is far superior to eBay or Craigslist or other traditional forms of sale.
Jim, we are just happy to hear that your Datsun went to a good home! While we try our hardest to find good homes for every exclusive we list, it helps when the seller provides us with great photos and lots of info like you did! We were honored to be a small part in the process and we look forward to helping you find a good home for your Charger in the near future!
And we can’t wait to see this little Datsun running in the Snowball! Hopefully the new owner will get on and post photos of it and keep us updated with their progress!
Thanks Jim!
Josh
Great result; god-love the driver/navigator of the second Jag on the Snowball Rally’s poster – inspiring!
Best of luck to the buyer; maybe I’ll get my Tiger running in time! Let’s see – first tax season ends on April 18, 2016 – just enough time to get there!
Sunbeamdon, hopefully you are able to get the Tiger ready in time! We might have to try to make it down for the event, even if we don’t have a car to run in it! It looks like a fun event. Best of luck and keep us posted with your progress!
As the co-buyer of Jim B’s Datsun, I must say that it indeed was a smooth and pleasant experience. As an occasional Barn Finds reader, I lucked out when I happened to check the site and see Jim’s new post on a Tuesday morning. I live in Brooklyn but I immediately emailed my cousin, Jeff, in Oakland to offer that if he was interested in the Datsun too, I’d go halfsies with him. We wanted a new car for the Snowball Rally (and beyond) and the Datsun was perfect. On Wednesday we had an agreement, arranged transport on Thursday, and by nightfall on Saturday, the car was unloaded at my cousin’s place in Oakland. Jim B was great to work with–personable, truthful, and an overall cool individual. Really appreciated that this was more than just a business transaction–that we were all able to meet a cool person and share a deep appreciation for (and some frustration with) vintage cars. We’ll definitely be in the Snowball Rally next spring. (check out our rally videos at vimeo.com/ranquan.) Thanks Barn Finds and Jim B.
BTW, the car is great. And when I get my act together to sell my ’71 Karmann Ghia here in Brooklyn, I’ll start with Barn Finds.
