1987 Dodge Pace Truck w/ Matching Go-Kart!
When discussing the topic of pace cars many of us often dream and lament about Camaro’s and other fine machines. Although, there are some other cool Indy 500 Pace vehicles that have been built through the ages like this ’87 Dodge Dakota SE. Showing to be in excellent condition with its 80’s styling cues, this sweet pace truck also comes with a dealer promotion Pace truck go kart. With that being said, this two for one combo is the perfect excuse for a parent to buy this truck for themselves and to also gain a cool go kart for their kids to enjoy. This clean and uncommon pace truck is offered of the buy it now price of $14,950. Take a look here on eBay out of Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.
Although this pace truck isn’t equipped with monstrous V8 power, this truck has been very well cared for with extensive maintenance. The overall condition of the truck looks stunning, even more so when you figure out the current mileage is 129,000 miles. Regularly serviced, this truck is reported to operate without flaw. Although, the seller mentions that the truck is due for a new exhaust as the current unit was loose, and the muffler was removed. The under hood shots appear clean with no obvious signs of rust, oil, or dirt. The dealer promotional go kart has a freshly rebuilt engine that is currently residing in the cab.
1980’s era vehicles can often have well-worn and downright thrashed interiors due to material choices back in the day, and sun/heat exposure. Miraculously, this interior appears to be nearly mint, even for the accumulated miles. The carpet and bench still appear to be rather plush with no evidence of long term wear. Somehow the dash looks to have completely avoided the sun all of its life with its rich burgundy appearance. The only real concern I see with the interior is that the passenger side door panel has a mild chalky appearance like it has suffered from sun exposure.
All of the aspects of the exterior make this truck appear to be much younger than it is. The paint and graphics glisten like new, while the plastic trim for the most part still holds a rich non-faded appearance. Even the chrome bumper looks fantastic on this pickup. For the younger readers out there, the go kart is also in fine shape, but it sounds like the rebuilt engine will need to be reinstalled into the kart. This truck will certainly turn heads at auto events with the matching go kart. A Carlisle placard is being included with the sale as well. Certainly an uncommon pace vehicle in nice shape, but would you make a move on the seller’s asking price?

No pics of the kart, really?
Everything you need to know about the cart is shown in the bed of the truck. What else is there? It’s a friggin’ go cart. LOL
I remember the good ol days when a rainbow meant that a storm had just passed.
@ Brian Birkner, you may want to take a closer look at the photo showing the dash. The same amount of fade is evident there as there is on the passenger door panel. Typical red plastic faded to a chalky pink.
cool…..not yer normal pace car……..
