Pair of Original Half-Cabs! 1966 Ford Broncos
These awesome 1966 Ford Broncos are being advertised as “his and hers,” complete with vanity plates. The seller does say they will consider selling them separately, but the pair is pretty cool together! They can be found here on Craigslist with an asking price of $69,000 for the pair. They are supposedly both un-cut, original, half-cab Broncos! Thanks to Rocco B. for the tip on this great pair of Fords. Let’s check them out!
We’ll start with the “hers” version. It features “Southern Belle” vanity plates and was delivered to Georgia in August of 1965. It features a straight-six engine with 3-on-the-tree manual transmission. It also features the original Ford hubcaps.
“His” version also features a straight-six with 3-on-the-tree manual transmission. It was delivered to California in 1965 and features “Surfer Dude” vanity plates. I like the original steel-wheel look. This is what I think of when I think of these early Broncos.
Overall, this is a striking pair. The first generation Broncos have really taken off in the past years. Original un-cut versions are even rarer. Add the half-cab option, you have a very desirable ride. What do you think of this pair? Do you prefer the look of “his” or “hers?”

If I had the discerunsry cash is jump on them. Only original once.
Wow that certainly didn’t come out right. Fat thumbs for sure!
Meant to say if I had discretionary cash I’d jump on em
I just thought you’d had a few too many Leinies! :D
This pair has been for sale for awhile – I hope they go to a good home!
The license plates say HER66 and HIS1966, surfer dude and southern belle seem to be nicknames for the Broncos.
The rear wheel wells and bed on the “his” Bronco is pretty rough. A quality restoration should have addressed that. It makes you wonder if this was more of a cosmetic restoration, done for resale, that a serious nuts and bolt restoration. A close inspection would be mandatory based on the serious rust issues common to these models.

Clearly not a nut and bolt restoration. Cheap work done for a flip and a profit.
These are cute but you have to wonder if the “custom Corvette” designer didn’t have something to do with the look. Do bet the rear fender plastic flare designers made a ton off them. Always wondered why Ford put the ’57 design on the rear quarters.
Steve R I agree. With the damage on the bed , and not sure which one it is, but there is turquoise overspray on the firewall. Pretty to look at but for that kind of coin they neeed to be perfect. 29 large for one and 40 for the other?? BJ syndrome.. Good luck to the new owner.
Cheers

Nice pair of Half Cabs but not 69K worth IMHO !!!
Beautifully restored? Look a bit on the tatty side for the dough.
Definitely looks like the typical low dollar restoration trying to cash in on Bronco-mania. Unfortunately someone will probably pay the asking price just due to the over-the-top interest in these.
Wow two perfect survivor!! Don’t see that much with the bronco!!! Everyone has tried to put there own twist on them!!!
