No Reserve 1975 Ford F-250 Ranger XLT 4×4
This 1975 Ford F-250 Ranger XLT isn’t perfect, but it is a tidy classic with a healthy V8 and the ability to transport its occupants deep into the wilderness. It could also function as an effective tow vehicle or an eye-catching shop truck. If its overall condition and presentation make it tempting, the seller’s decision to list it with No Reserve might make it irresistible. The F-250 is listed here on eBay in Nampa, Idaho. Bidding has raced to $15,400, and with only days remaining, a new home is beckoning for this beauty.
Ford launched its Sixth Generation F-Series range in 1973. The latest model rode on the same chassis as its predecessor, and apart from more modern styling, there were changes below the surface as Ford undertook a continuous improvement program. The primary focus was on rust prevention techniques, which is reflected by the number of these classics that remain rock-solid five decades later. This 1975 F-250 is no exception. The underside shots confirm there are no problems, while the spray-on bedliner ensures no issues will develop there. The panels wear Raven Black paint that shines nicely. The seller supplies an excellent selection of images in their listing. They confirm there are minor chips and marks, but the overall impression is positive for what can be considered a survivor-grade Pickup. Some small trim pieces sport minor damage, but most look exceptional for their age. The glass is spotless, and the Warn heavy-duty bumper, winch, and hitch receiver are practical aftermarket additions.
We have recently seen a few classic Pickups from this seller, and all have featured interiors that present well for their age. They are consistent, with seatcovers that look new and spotless carpet. This F-250 is no exception, with the impression accentuated by the immaculate dash, crack-free pad, and excellent faux woodgrain. The sports wheel and tilt column are worthwhile additions, allowing the driver to tailor their position for greater comfort. The interior doesn’t score air conditioning or other luxury touches but retains its original pushbutton AM radio.
Buyers could choose from six engines to power their new 1975 F-Series, with this Ranger’s original owner selecting the 360ci V8. It sends 196hp and 327 ft/lbs of torque to the road via a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range NP205 transfer case. The specifications include power brakes and the factory Tow Package to complement the hitch receiver. The power and torque figures may seem modest by modern standards, but they were considered pretty reasonable in 1975. The strength of the 360 was its low-end delivery, making it ideal for crawling through harsh terrain. The seller provides no specific information in their listing about how this F-250 runs or drives. However, their use of the word “strong” suggests it is in sound mechanical health.
This 1975 F-250 Ranger XLT isn’t perfect, but its condition justifies the twenty-eight bids submitted at the time of writing. Performing a paint refresh so the exterior presented as nicely as the interior would be straightforward, although there is no reason why it couldn’t be left untouched. It would undoubtedly command respect, an impression that would heighten when the hood was lifted. The No Reserve factor guarantees it is days away from finding a new home. It could be ideal for someone with a load to tow or who wants to escape into the great outdoors. Are you tempted?

Another nice Ford truck from the prolific Idaho seller. This one has a little different vibe, with the front winch and the offroad-oriented heavy-duty tires mounted on base wheels. Yet with a sporty-looking steering wheel and column. New upholstery and carpet go a long way to improving the appeal of old trucks like this. This generation of F-series trucks are tough, yet attractive and collectible.
This is a stout rig! Not a fan of the boat anchor 360 but a beautiful truck.
Another nice example of the best trucks ever made. The 360 is no hot rod on the highway, but will “climb a tree”, so to speak, which is what it’s all about with trucks like this
Make sure that you check this truck over very well before purchasing. If you can’t go in person, make sure to have a reputable inspection service check it out for you!
Why? Did your sister leave something behind the seat?
Bidding is at $18400. My only qualm is that it doesn’t have the 460; being an F-250 it should’ve had that engine. But if you can afford the gas this is a terrific driver and great for C & C.
Ford didn’t offer 460s in 4x4s in the 70s
Thanks for the info, I just remembered seeing 460s in F-150s and assumed they were available in any F-250.
A lot of 5th generation restorers ruined their trucks by putting 460’s in them with a C-6 Automatic.
They did, however, offer a 400.
400 wasn’t offered till 77
No 385 series in four wheel drives available from Ford in this vintage…no 390s either in 4×4…
Good observation, always glad to hear someone say what I already said.
Another nice 70’s Ford that would look so good in this Chevy guys garage. These are the pickups that ruled the road growing up in the 70s and 80s. If you were in the trades you probably drove one. My kind of people. Working class Americans!
Now this is when Ford built a truck worth driving.
Nice truck
Okay guys. I’ve read just about all that there is on the truck, seller and all the past that has been written.
Still have my bewildering thoughts also. However, I live 35 minutes from Nampa. If there is someone seriously interested in this truck. I will be happy to drive over, after a interested party sets up a time and place, and do a walk around live video.
For a tank of gas.
I wish I would have had your contact info last month when I purchased from them. Big mistake not having it looked at by an outsider!
Damn brother. Sorry to hear that.
Keep me in mind for the future. I’m in the Fruitland, ID area. Right on the border of Idaho and Oregon where I-84 intersects.
Ya know I read a comment about this seller/agent/consignor, which ever he is. What the heck happened? I would think that you would have claim if he is doing business in Idaho. But, then I read him say that he was some 2100 or 2700 miles from the truck. And then I see the low approval for some past transactions.
Don’t you have any way to go with CL.?
I ordered a 1979 F254 before with the 404 speed. Could not get the 460 only with Automatic still have the 79F250.
4 X four
This one looks ready for work or play. Actually it’s pretty nicely trimmed for the kind of work truck we saw fifty years ago. I like the interior and exterior trim and the four -speed.
Wow. Flashback alert! Pops bought a nearly identical 1970 version of this same truck new, 360, 4speed, 4×4, Raven Black Ranger he called, “Midnight”.
I couldn’t have been more than 4 or 5 but I remember the day he drove it home. I was sitting on the curb when I saw him coming around the corner as proud as punch.
Several years later my brother an I were already loaded up waiting for Dad so we could go mow Grandma’s yard and for some reason Pop had a judges gavel in the truck. My brother picked it up and exclaimed, “Order in the Court!” and smacked the dash with the gavel causing the dash pad to split wide open in two places right on either side of where the gavel hit.
While I was laughing my ass off because I knew he was going to get a whipping, my brother was panicking trying to cover the split with paperwork and anything else he could find. Of course that didn’t work but much to my chagrin, Dad never gave him the beating he so richly deserved.
Well boys, CL sez that this sale has ended.
Was kinda wondering about this. Hum..
