When comparing the 1971 Corvette to the prior year’s model, very little changed on the outside, as the UAW labor dispute in the fall of ’69 delayed the launch of the 1970 cars, and with that shortened run the ’71s were mostly an extension of the previous year in the appearance department.  But there was some detuning on the engines, as all GM vehicles were now required to be capable of running on 91 octane fuel, so the 350 went from 300 horsepower down to 270, but it was still a very capable performer and easy to live with for a daily driver.  This 1971 Chevrolet Corvette here on eBay seems to have held up nicely over the years, so if you’ve been looking for an early seventies small block example this one may be worth checking out.  The C3 is in Brooklyn, New York, with the bidding up to $13,100 thus far.

We don’t get any information about the ‘Vette’s background, such as how many different people have owned it or how long it’s been under the seller’s watch, but just judging from the car’s appearance it looks like it’s been shown plenty of love through the decades.  The seller’s description that it’s not a perfect showpiece or museum car seems like a reasonable assessment, but still of good driver quality with an overall nice body and decent paint job, and one that you can get in and enjoy without worrying every mile of the way.

The big block cars seem to get most of the fanfare, and sure, they offer more bragging rights, but to find a ’71 with the numbers-matching 350 still under the hood is definitely a cause worth celebrating.  The mileage is listed as 14,101, which I’m guessing is what’s on the odometer but it’s likely rolled, and there’s no word on whether or not the motor has ever had an overhaul.  The seller does state that it starts right up, runs well, and sounds like a muscle car is supposed to.  Everything in the engine compartment seems orderly, and more good drivetrain news is the automatic transmission, which is also said to be the original component.

I’ve always been a fan of the saddle interiors, and this one doesn’t disappoint, with the owner describing it as presenting in like new condition.  Things are looking good in there, with one upgrade being the Stereo system with some hefty speakers in the rear.  The car is equipped with power windows and it’s also a factory A/C car, plus all the gauges are still functioning correctly.  And with no reserve, the high bidder is going to be the car’s proud new owner.  I’m liking this one pretty well- how about you?
