No Reserve Dart: 1962 Diamler SP250
About a week ago we featured a Daimler SP250 that sold for over $44k. Well we found another SP250, but this one isn’t quite as pristine or as original. However, this one hasn’t seen as many miles and its being offered on eBay with no reserve. The auction is already to $6,000, but we think this one will go for considerably less.
This SP250 is a B-spec car, so it has an improved chassis with various reinforcements. It also has quite a few of the optional features that were offered on these cars. It has wire wheels, matching hardtop, front and rear bumpers, and heater.
This car is mostly original and is in pretty good shape. We only wish that the car wore its original paint, or at least was still its original color. This car was originally painted red-orange, like the other SP250 we featured, and had matching orange shag carpet on the floor. The orange shag is still in the car, but is faded and starting to show its age.
The engine is the original 2.5 liter V8 with Hemi heads. The engine has had all the cooling hoses replaced and probably needs a good tune up. This engine is known to be very reliable and provides plenty power for the lightweight SP250.
We are big fans of the SP250 and would love to have one of these. We are sad that this one isn’t still in its original color. If we could get this car cheap enough, where it’s not still 100 percent original, we would be tempted to use it as a vintage racer. But this car is still presentable with this paint job and would make a great driver.

You gotta include a photo of the orange shag carpet if you mention it.(??)
E-bay auction is long gone and so are ‘their’ photos.
What did it sell for ?
