Numbers Matching: 1969 Pontiac Firebird 400
This 1969 Pontiac Firebird 400 is located in Dundee, New York. However, it spent most of its life in California. The Firebird is listed for sale here on eBay and bids have reached $46,600 with 3 days remaining in the auction. The 1969 Pontiac Firebird 400 HO/Ram Air was originally purchased in Los Angeles, California, and was purchased by the seller in 2016. The car has reportedly undergone a meticulous restoration process in Riverside, California and retains its numbers matching original drive train and all original sheet metal, free from rust. The restoration, conducted as a subframe off project, aimed to maintain the vehicle as close to its factory specifications as possible.
The interior restoration boasts a blend of vintage authenticity and modern functionality with an updated factory stereo within the deluxe interior, complemented by a deluxe steering wheel and a suite of full factory gauges. The restoration included all-new glass, factory Rally II wheels, BF Goodrich tires, long branch exhaust manifold, and a Gardener dual exhaust system. With meticulous attention to detail, the restoration process was comprehensive, sparing no expense. The vehicle is stated to be in excellent condition suitable for show or practical driving. PHS documents accompany the Firebird, providing authentication and historical context.
Painted in its original Windward Blue color with a deviation from its factory white to a Black vinyl top, the vehicle’s exterior exudes its original charm while adding a subtle personalized touch. Alongside the aesthetic restoration, a significant emphasis was placed on ensuring functionality. The Firebird is equipped with power disc brakes, power steering, a tilt steering wheel, and a factory AC system that remains in working condition, enhancing its usability and comfort.
The ad has numerous pictures including several detailed pictures of the undercarriage. Having accumulated only 500 miles since the completion of its restoration, this Pontiac Firebird maintains its original Black California license plates and title. Its relocation to upstate NY has apparently not diminished its pristine condition.

Just beautiful. Nicely done restoration. Anything under $60000 will be a good deal.

If she had wings she’d fly. Beautiful ‘bird.
Beautiful color combination and a super fresh underside referb.
Nice Firebird, This bird should bring good money.
Where’s the Ram Air?
People who list cars and aren’t up on Pontiac’s language (maybe nuance) often will equate “HO” with “Ram Air.” The engine may be an HO, but without the Ram Air induction, it’s only HO, and not a true Ram Air car, though it’s the same RA III engine under the hood.
It does come down to when the car was produced. With the new ram air setup in 1969, it was not available until February due to the complexity of the system when compared to 1968. HO cars made before that could not get this option.
The nicest one I have seen in a while and its not a Camaro. Love the color also.
That IS a car I would buy out of NY
