One Family Owned: Clean 1987 Chevrolet Blazer

Disclosure: This site may receive compensation from some link clicks and purchases.

Located in Spokane, Washington, this extremely well cared for 1978 Chevrolet K5 Blazer is for sale with only 87,000 miles. The Blazer is listed here on eBay with less than two days remaining in the auction. The Blazer is listed at no reserve and is currently bid to $11,600. If you are a fan of Blazers or Chevrolet pickups you know that 1987 was a great year as these vehicles came with a fuel-injected 350 cubic inch V8 engine as the standard power plant. The exterior grey paint is said to be free of nicks and dents and the rear top has never been removed.

The 5.7-liter V8 engine provided 210 horsepower and 300 ft-lbs of torque with the throttle body fuel injection. This was a significant increase from the 305 cubic inch 5.0 liter V8 that produced only 170 horsepower and 260 ft-lbs of torque. The engine compartment looks original and well maintained. The Blazer has air conditioning, power steering, and power brakes. This body style was continued until 1991 by Chevrolet.

The grey velour interior looks almost new except for the map pockets in the door panels. This Blazer was optioned with bucket seats, tilt steering, power windows, and power locks. The 4WD selector is mounted on the floor and the shifter for the automatic transmission is mounted on the column. The Blazer is said to run and drive well and has no leaks from the drivetrain.

The BF Goodrich tires are said to be in good shape and the truck has been in the same family since new. It appears to have been garaged kept and after looking for a clean example off and on for several years, it is rare to find one in this good of a condition. I was at the Mecum Auction in Dallas this past weekend and after seeing some of the strong prices at this auction, I am sure the bidders would have appreciated this 1987 K5 Blazer.

This is another listing by one of the Marks clan.

    Caveat emptor.

Their 100% positive feedback suggests otherwise. What’s your specific beef with them?

        Ebay feedback? lol

That clan of gypsies had been defrauding people of their hard-earned money for years. But by all means, it’s your money, go ahead and give them a shot.

It’s not optioned with bucket seats – unlike squarebody pickups and ‘burbs all K5s came with buckets. As an interesting note; ’79 was the first year both front buckets were standard when you bought the bread’n’butter Custom DeLuxe. Yes, until then a no-options K5 included the driver’s seat only, RH and rear seats were listed as ‘available’ on the Custom DeLuxe.

This is one of the surprisingly many well-kept K5s that seem to pop up from the PNW. It obviously/luckily hasn’t spent its life as a beater farm truck. IMHO it deserves an ’80down face conversion though
