Original 1971 Chevy C-10 Short Bed
Up for sale is this original, 1971 Chevy C-10 short box pickup in an iconic orange and white paint job. A clear title is listed as well as a VIN. The truck has no miles listed. According to the current owner, who has let it sit in storage for the last seven years, the truck is originally from Pollock, Louisiana where it sat for 25 years, but is now in Cypress, Texas. It is listed for sale on eBay for a bid price of $3,550.
Listed for an engine is simply a V8, and no pictures are provided of the power plant. Nothing is listed for the transmission either, however there are three pedals which one can see in one of the interior photos. It can be deduced that it is a manual truck, and while unlisted, it appears to be a 2 wheel drive. An under body photo shows some surface rust and body panels eaten away, however, nothing looks severe.
Inside the cabin is a well-aged interior with the driver side beach seat ripped. There are floor mats covering the floor pans, so it is hard to tell if there are any holes. A headliner is still attached to the ceiling and dust covers the dashboard, instrument panel, and steering wheel. Other than that, it looks to all be intact and complete. A side mirror on the passenger side is missing and a door jam is slightly rusted.
The bed of the truck has some surface rust, but looks to be complete. There is no word if the random oddities in the bed come with the truck. It has a low aggressive stance and at this price, would be a fantastic project.

The orange and white paint is iconic as you state. If this can be bought for the right price it would really make a nice truck to have.
What makes it “iconic”?
Perhaps because this was a newer color palette as we moved away from the ‘60’s green and golds or just perhaps because a guy from church had a 72 in this combination. I liked the word choice of Brentton’s
Part of what makes it ‘iconic’ is the wide white stripe that runs the length of the truck. Body color above and below and a white roof. This was an entirely new look for the 70’s and it became a trademark of Chevy and GMC trucks. So much so that it has been recreated at some dealers more recently as a throwback option (https://www.motor1.com/news/236874/modern-chevrolet-silverado-cheyenne-recreation/) @NotSure is correct in that the 70’s also took us into bold color territory on pickups, think orange, reds, blues, dark green, yellows. Even the gold and brown colors common to the 60’s on pickups looked better with that wide white stripe. And finally to many of us that combination still looks good although if you described it to me without a picture I would have said “no way”.
I always liked that color combination and I would keep it if I repainted it. I saw a pic of a much newer Chevy truck in that livery and it’s too bad it still isn’t offered.
What makes it Iconic ????
Hmmmm, I’ll take HOT ROD ORANGE on many many cars,and yes,I happen to own a 70 GMC in white cab and bottom half,orange main body (mostly original paint).But hey ,there’s a grey Camry or 3 series Bmw for everyone.
Great style Chevy P/U!
Rd truck / woods truck…if its short bed – I like the step side, if step side I like the 4WD, etc, etc (this 2WD should B a long bed).
Oh well, I do like the year (model).
It’s a great color combo and it’s a truck that could work all day and bring you and your lady to dinner that night!!!
My Dad owned a ‘71 C-20 with the 402ci.big block,all white and wood grain trim along the side.These are great looking trucks and also very collectible!
I’m a Ford truck guy but love the 67 to 72 Chevy/GMC trucks, owned a 68 K10 and it was a great truck.
“while unlisted, it appears to be a 2 wheel drive”
C10 = 2wd
K10 = 4wd
I can see myself in this truck. But Ican’t pay so much loot for it.
God bless America
I’ve always wondered what, “Everything you always wanted” would cost. Guess I’m going to find out.
Odd it’s a 3 speed manual. Wonder if someone dolled up a 6 cyl with Cheyenne badges, and dropped a V8 into it. Be great to see the glove box door sticker. Sure like the color combo though.
I have a stock 69 C-10 short bed step side with a 307 three on the tree. Not all 3 speeds were 6 cylinders. I can’t tell you how many people ask me to sell it to them.
Fender badge has 350 on it.
Had a ’72 Cheyenne in yellow/white and out of all the vehicles I’ve owned that’s one that I probably miss the most. It was parked in front of my mother’s house when we heard a crash and found the truck in the front yard, three houses down the street and across a side street. The front corner of the box was trying to occupy the same space as the driver’s seat and the front end had sheared off a fire hydrant, thanks to a lawyer’s kid going way over the speed limit while paying more attention to his girlfriend’s upper thigh than the road.
