LT1 Chassis Included! 1955 Chevrolet Nomad Project

Disclosure: This site may receive compensation from some link clicks and purchases.

This 1955 Chevrolet Nomad already has a really nice custom chassis and drivetrain! All it needs is some metalwork and re-assembly. It is located in Dallas, Texas and can be found here on eBay with a requested opening bid of $13,000 and a buy-it-now price of $16,000. It’s going to need quite a bit of work, but it looks like the seller has given the prospective buyer a great start. Check it out!

Unfortunately, this car will need some major metalwork and a bunch of replacement panels. The dash looks decent and the roof appears okay. Overall, the view from the doors up looks pretty good…

Looking down though tells a different story. The floor is nearly completely rotted and the new owner had better plan on a full floor pan replacement. The nice thing about shoe-box Chevys is there are several companies that have aftermarket pieces for them including entire replacement bodies.

The car is currently sitting on a chassis, but the owner says it probably isn’t usable. I’m guessing it may have as much rot as the body. The nice thing is the car comes with a complete second chassis. The seller even says he will mount the body on it to save on shipping costs for the buyer. The second chassis features a stainless fuel cell, relocated springs, and new wheels and tires. The powerplant is an LT1 but the seller has a complete LS1 they will offer as an option. The engine is a “fresh” 6-speed manual.

There are a ton of parts included with the sale. I’m not sure how many are useable, but it appears that everything may be there. Hopefully, the buyer won’t have to hunt down a ton of parts. So what do you think about this project? Is it worth the asking price? Is it too big of a project even with the new chassis and parts? Let us know.

Tim and Tom have it, this is a ruffian. Where to start. think some of the rear glass is hard to find. start at 13 large?? I’d take that lucky 13 and look for a better car. They are out there.

The price is too high for a project of this magnitude.
