If you ever made a visit to Walt Disney World as a kid, at least the location in Orlando, I’m guessing the chances are near 100% that one of these people movers transported your family from the parking lot or hotel to The Magic Kingdom, and looking back who would have ever thought at the time that someday you’d have the chance to own a vintage real-life Disneyland trolley.  The dream has come true, and you now have an opportunity to add this tram that served in Walt’s fleet to your collection for $7,000, plus the seller is open to offers or trades as well.  It’s down in Lutz, Florida, and can be seen here on Barn Finds Classifieds.

I was in the single-digit age bracket when my parents took my sister and me to WDW in Florida during the summer of ’73, and still remember thinking how cool it was riding one of these from the lot where my dad parked our ’70 Bonneville all the way to the front gates, then back again at the end of the day where a Disney World bumper sticker had been placed on our car because my father forgot to put the sun visor down.  I kept the Mickey Mouse back scratcher my mom bought me as a souvenir well into my teen years.

The seller says these trolleys date back to the seventies and were originally built by the Noland Car Company, although that changed in 1987 when Cushman obtained the business but kept these in production.  This one would have been made by the latter manufacturer as the data tag reveals a build date of 1990, but the seller says he obtained it from a private collection where it had apparently been sitting for more than 20 years.

Fortunately for the next owner, the batteries were replaced in 2021 and the trolley is in working order as can be seen in this YouTube video.  At some point, a few more fun accessories were added, such as sirens, horns, color-changing strip lighting, and even a P.A. system.  You’re probably thinking all these extras might drain the power more quickly, but no worries as a charger is also included in the sale.

For the most part, things down below appear structurally sound but the seller does mention some rust along with a few pieces of wood that could use replacing, however, this one seems like the overall condition is good and the fact that it can actually be driven instead of just sitting is a big plus.  I guess the Disney Resort trams and the trolley from Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood Of Make-Believe are close to tied as my childhood favorites, but I don’t think they made any full-scale real operating units from the PBS show so I’ll have to give the nod to this one.  Seriously, if I had the room to keep this, I’d love to own this piece of nostalgia, how about you?
