Six-Wheeled Mystery Machine: 1983 Dodge Ram Van B350
This is a rare opportunity to own an unusual 6-wheeled Scooby Doo-themed van. This 1983 Dodge Ram van is a highly custom machine with 112,000 miles. The seller notes that the mystery machine started life as a camper van and was later converted to its current state. Customizing vans started in the ’70s and was often executed via flashy rims, cozy interiors, and stereo systems, all meant to make the vehicle into a mobile treehouse hangout spot. This van is a little different with its cartoon theme but still presents the same functionality as other custom vans. The Ram van was listed on November 16th in Tacoma Washington on craigslist for 20,000 dollars. Thanks to Tony for the tip!
The Scooby-Doo theme doesn’t end outside this groovy Dodge, inside is fully custom and fuzz-lined. The seller notes that outlets are present throughout the interior, allowing the next owner to plug in anything they need. While the theme may be fairly inflexible, this van could be used for camping with a bed present or as a fun hangout zone capable of being transported anywhere.
The cabin sports two blue fabric swivel seats and a matching blue dash. The fur continues from the back onto the door panels and floor reminding the driver of the vehicle’s aesthetically loud exterior. A large console sits between the seats providing a space for beverages, maps, or even a game console to entertain the passenger on longer drives.
The Mystery Machine is powered by an eight-cylinder Chrysler 318 engine that sends power to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The seller notes that the car runs and drives well and is ready for its next adventure with its new owner. This boogie van may not have a psychedelic mural on its exterior or massive chrome pipes, but it’s nothing short of groovy. If you want to be the new owner of this wild machine, contact the seller today.

Cool van…needs a little more rear suspension support. I never was a Scooby Doo fan…a little past my Saturday morning cartoon days.
Here’s a BF Challenge…find a Harlem Globe Trotter’s themed Toyota Van!
I’m sorry but I just don’t see 20k in this “funhouse”. I thought for sure it’d have at least a 360 in it. Although the 318 has been around awhile & is a reliable engine, they were sluggish back then when it came time to move. I had a Ram truck with 318 that had a tough time just hauling a uhaul trailer from Fla to NC.
Seems to me, this thing would have a lot more value as a camper van than a cartoon van.
Twenty K even with the missing ashtray in the engine cover? I’ve heard of people getting tickets for driving 3 axle vehicles without a CDL…
The missing ashtray doubles as a heater vent!
“…mobile treehouse hangout spot.”
This made me lol! It is about the best summary of 70’s custom vans I’ve ever heard — well done!
My dad (not a car guy) had a 318 in a Plymouth Valiant. I used tp borrow it when I first got licensed. He could NOT figure out why the right rear tire kept going bald!?!?! “must be bad suspension dad”?
I had a B300,72′ Maxi van that sag as this one. I installed springs from an EMS vehicle and it brough up the rear nicely. I believe they were a Ton and Quarter. This ride is not good in a parking lot. LOL
With all that fuzz in the back, I’m sneezing just looking at it. You’ll have to fumigate that thing once a year.
Scooby Doo outside, Sid & Marty Krofft inside.
As a complete functional class b camper it might have been worth $20,000 looks like somebody destroyed it.
Don’t shine a blacklight in the back of this thing. Yee-Uck!
Wow, a blacklight would be in order for this one before purchasing, just saying?……LOL!.
No original 6 wheel vans from Dodge, as far as I know, only aftermarket conversions of varying quality (perhaps evidenced by the noticeable rear sag of this truck).
