We are always on the hunt for great barn finds, but sometimes we run across unique finds that we just have to share. A Fiat 500 isn’t likely to be one of those cars, but a Vignale bodied Fiat 500 is. We just stumbled upon this 1966 Vignale Gamine on eBay with a BIN price of $32,500 and a starting bid of $23,500.

The Gamine was Alfredo Vignale’s personal project that was produced in limited numbers by Vignale’s own manufacturing plant under the name Carozzeria Vignale. The car was based on the Fiat Nuova 500 Sport, but was rebodied at the Vignale plant. No one knows exactly how many Gamines were built, but the best estimates are around 300. There aren’t many of these cars left on the road and even fewer are in this kind of condition.

1966 Fiat Vignale Gamine Interior

This rare little convertible is in amazing condition and runs great. It looks to have been meticulously restored at some point and looks as good as new or better. The interior is very stripped down, which keeps weight down, and looks great with the tan seats and red piping.

The Gamine isn’t a fast car, but it is extremely light and handles accordingly. The air cooled Fiat 2-cylinder is only good for about 22 hp, but it’s known as a reliable engine and does a decent job of pushing this 1000 pound convertible. This car’s odometer reads 36k miles and if it’s correct this car should have years of life left in it.

We really like the styling of this car and we wouldn’t mind owning it. The price might be a little to high for us, but the starting bid of $23k isn’t a bad price for a rare car in this condition. We hope this rare little Italian goes to a good home.
