Killer Firewall! 1955 Chevrolet 210 Two-Door Sedan
Normally we avoid cars with no title but this 1955 Chevrolet 210 in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina came in as a reader tip so let’s have a look! The hood appears to have suffered the indignity of a crash or damage from someone forcing it closed against stubborn rusted hood hinges. Generally speaking the metal on these old cars is thick enough to come back from this sort of surface rust. It appears to have sat outside for some time and, without windows, that’s not good. The listing here on eBay features a Buy-It-Now price of $4900. That’s a tough sell as a complete vehicle with no title. Perhaps a Tri-Five expert could comment below on how this one stacks up as a parts car. Kudos to the seller for describing the hood as “junk” where some sellers would say “needs work.” That jet hood ornament has got to be worth something.
Originally a handsome two-tone Paint code 613 Shoreline Beige over Neptune Green, the 1011 two-door sedan brings less money than a Sport Coupe. Visit Google Images to review available body styles in ’55. The 210 (mid-level) trim is crunched here and there, but might be attractive to potential buyers. Thanks to paddockparts.com for some details. Rear glass comes with the sale.
The dash may be useful, but a stereo installation and removal has left the shiny trim in a sorry state. Expect the worst under those floor mats. Only being reportedly stored “in a barn shed over 50 years,” may have saved it from utter destruction.
Only a masochist would view this inline six-cylinder-shaped ingot as a salvageable engine. Got a motor lying around your garage? No one will complain if you re-power this 210 with a lawnmower engine, Kubota turbo-deisel, or Honda S2000 parts. Any of the above are better than sending it to a crunchy metallic grave. Joking aside, this could become a cool driver. LS swap anyone? No description of this car would be complete without the word “patina,” and the seller does not disappoint, unless you’re a stickler for spelling. One suggested end-state is that of “patana driver,” which sounds like a killer name for a golf club. Anyway, the “Fire wall [is] killer,” so what are you waiting for?

Yeah, pay $5k for this and make money flipping it. Ok there, Travis Patana.
If it was parked in a barn 50 years back I wonder how it ended up wih a salvage title? It cannot have been such a bad vehicle then?
needs to learn how to take pictures LOL
…would probably need learn a thing or two about grammar and spelling too…and this comes from a guy who doesn’t have English as his mother tongue…
Not sure what the gizmo on the deck lid is – looks kinda like a battery shut-off, like drag racing style, but with a stovebolt?
Cost of shipping your wife?!? Hmm, wonder if I can ship my ex in exchange for it? That would be a fair trade!!
Still worth maybe half that south of the rust belt….sure bet it was bought for not any where close to what’s being asked.
great front fenders, if you don’t need headlights………..
One period in the entire ad, and it’s not at the end! I wonder why he decided he needed it. ” six-cylinder-shaped ingot”, good one!
I tried looking at the pix on ebay, but gave up after I decided the guy must have been on drugs.
Ow. My neck hurts from looking at all the sideways photos.
The only surprising thing is that he didn’t type his rambling description in ALL CAPS!
Buyer beware, “there is bullet holes.” SMH
Why would they sell it with a Bill of Sale only but have a salvage title. I guess that’s what makes it rare and over priced.
paTINA? tina is what this guy’s gotta be smokin Guess he thinks like PT Barnum, there’s a sucker born every minute
What a great candidate for an American Stock Hobby class vintage short track racer.
Looks like a ruffian, close inspection a must, but possibly go look at it and make an offer, get out the DA and blow some epoxy primer on it. Might work out. 327 4 speed would be my dream. Good luck to the new owner!! Not sure if weed is legal in NC, might be part of the problem…..
Cheers

I completely agree with you…… Learning how to take good pictures while help sell your car. And not tripling pictures, especially of door hinges! WTH?
There are a lot of cars in the bushes in North Carolina!
The screwdriver was the best looking thing in the ad.
I agree Old Car Guy, LOL, I thought it was a magic trick untill I realized the pic was sideways. Believe it or not, sold. Ended: Mar 03, 2019 , 2:00PM
