Highboy Beauty! 1976 Ford F-250
This 1976 Ford F-250 looks like a nearly perfect classic truck. It is located in Caldwell, Idaho, and can be found for sale here on eBay with a current bid of $26,000. Based on the condition of this truck, I would guess the final price will be much higher than that. Classic Ford pickups have been commanding a premium lately and this one should be no exception. Check out this beauty for yourself!
The interior is pretty typical with the woodgrain dash and bench seat. The ad says it also features factory air conditioning, tilt steering, sliding rear window, and retro radio with Bluetooth.
The engine is a 360 V8 the seller describes as “strong.” It is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission that sends power through a divorced transfer case to both axles. The front features locking hubs and the rear has been modified with an ARB diff cover. The truck also features power steering and brakes, which is an awesome upgrade.
As you can probably tell, the suspension is a little higher than a standard F-250. The lift has been completed using Skyjacker components. The seller doesn’t say how tall it is, but I’m guessing the lift is in the 4″ to 6″ range. The tires are from Maxxis and are controlled by dual steering stabilizers and are mounted on Rock Crusher Wheels. Overall, this is an awesome, clean, classic 4×4. What do you think?

This is actually an F350 Super Camper Special.
Nice truck, but an ugly color combination.
I saw that too. I couldn’t tell from the pics whether they just moved the rear wheels/suspension back to make it all work? Appears to still have the Highboy frame and VIN as far as I can tell.
The super camper special rear axle was pushed back and a spare tire hung behind passenger door side removable panel, yes, 1973 grill with 1976 interior
It may be a 1976 but that’s a ‘73-‘75 grill in it. Truth be known I’d rather have the older grill. I cannot understand why so many people want to jack them up so high (and this one isn’t all that bad). They have plenty of ground clearance bone stock but then, each to their own. Just remember to buy your U-joints by the 24 pack…
I’m with geomechs. I know the jacked-up look is “in” and is supposed to make it look more macho, but I think it makes trucks like this look tipsy and a bit cartoonish. But like geo says, each to their own.
Overall, nice truck.
Thanks for pointing that out about the U joints.
I borrowed my Brother in Law’s ’74,with a 4 speed.
Drove it from Portland,Oregon to Eureka.I thought
it was a totally cool truck.
In the Costco parking lot I walked past 12 cars in a row that were gray or black. (Not knocking their choice. One of my cars is black.) Say what you want about the color but you’d have no problem finding this truck in crowded lot. I like it.
I make similar observations. The next time you are at a busy intersection, see how many vehicles you see which are NOT black, gray, silver, or white.
In that case,Shocking Pink would
make it even easier to spot.
I don’t think it would make any difference what color would help you find it in a crowded lot. With that lift, everything from the trim strip and above would be sticking out above the rooflines of every other vehicle in the lot!
And almost all Tellurides are moss green, mine included!
Is there a link to this truck on eBay or wherever it may be?
The link has been added. Thanks!
Found it in case anyone wants to check it out.

Great color combo.
That engine and engine bay is Nice!
Clean interior, but too much lift to live with for me. Color is interesting … not grey, thankfully!
Definitely a homemade Highboy. The cowl badging is 77-79, the hood is 78-79, the grille is 73-75, and as mentioned above, the bed at least, is that of an F350 Super Camper Special.
Very nice truck though.
That comment seems to have been deleted. You don’t wanna know lol.
About 15 years ago I was at a guys collection and he had a ford pickup late 70’s sitting that he said he would sell for a 1000, I looked it over and I knew a rust free bed was well worth a 1000 bucks but something looked odd about it, yep camper special
