Hawaiian Garage Find: Abarth Zagato Project
Today we have another project for you that might be a little more desirable. This Abarth Zagato project is located in Kamuela Hawaii where it has been sitting in a garage since the 90’s. Find it here on eBay with bidding starting at $8,000 and a BIN price of $20,000.
Abarth Zagato’s are not the fastest cars ever built, but they are amongst the most beautiful. This project is missing the drivetrain, but many of the other parts to complete the project are included with the sale. It is going to take a lot of bodywork and we feel that the BIN might be a little optimistic considering it does not include the original engine. Abarth engines are not impossible to locate though. The values of these cars are all over the map with cars starting at $30k and some selling for over $100k. We are not sure if this will ever be a $100k car, but it deserves to be restored and the seller is willing to ship it to the mainland.
Here is a photo from conceptcarz of what you could end up with when finished. If purchased at the right price, this could make for a fun little car that would be eligible for many road rally events and vintage racing. We hope the seller has set a realistic reserve and that the new owner has the resources to restore this car back to its original glory.

I think this guy is dreaming.
Why is it I always love cars (This one has always been a fave) …that I could probably never fit in ? I’m 6’4″, and some (many !) sports cars aren’t made in my size, sadly… but I love ’em all the same !
That’s one advantage of being 5’6″. I’ve never had trouble fitting in a Lotus or any small car. Just my size actually.
