Throughout the 1960s, the Bonneville was the cream of the crop when it came to buying a new Pontiac. They were big, bold, luxurious, and powerful. This ’64 2-door hardtop has been stored in the seller’s barn for more than a decade and has some cosmetic issues to be dealt with. It doesn’t run and that may be why it hibernated, to begin with. Listed some time ago, this old Pontiac is in Canby, Oregon, and available here on Facebook Marketplace for $2,500 OBO.

The Bonneville was on Pontiac’s payroll from 1957-05, making it one of the GM division’s longest-running nameplates. Third-generation Bonneville’s were built from 1961-64 and helped the company achieve third place in industry sales. The car was longer than other B-bodied Pontiacs like the Catalina, thanks to a longer wheelbase, providing more interior room for passengers. For ’64, the cars were powered by a 389 cubic-inch V8 with a 4-barrel carburetor and Hydra-Matic transmission, as with the seller’s car.

This Bonneville would have been one of nearly 35,000 built in ’64 in this body style. While in at least one photo, the car looks to have two-tone paint, that’s because barn shadows are showing. It’s painted white which is tired by now and there are some dents and rust in the sheet metal along with some missing trim pieces. The seller has kept it in his barn for more than 10 years and admits that restoring it will not happen on his watch.

We aren’t given any photos of the passenger compartment, so we don’t know the condition of the interior. Fortunately, all the windows seem to have been left closed, which hopefully means that no furry denizens of the dwelling have worked their way into the car to wreak havoc. It’s a well-optioned automobile, with power windows and seats along with tilt steering. But how well any of that would work by now is anyone’s guess.
