Fuel Injected 460: 1996 Ford F250 XLT SuperCab
We see plenty of Pickups at Barn Finds. Like any other classic category, some are distinctly better than others. This 1996 Ford F250 XLT SuperCab sits close to the top of the heap. It presents beautifully and is loaded with factory options to make life on the road pleasant. However, the 7.5-liter V8 provides the power to climb over almost any obstacle or function as an effective tow vehicle. It needs nothing and is ready to hit the road with a new owner behind the wheel.
Some Pickups blend effortlessly into the background, barely rating a passing glance. Others are stunning, garnering admiring looks and comments wherever they go. This F250 sits firmly in the second category, courtesy of its stunning Code UA Black paint. The seller admits a close inspection will reveal minor imperfections, but that is expected for any vehicle of this type with nearly three decades under its belt. The paint has a beautiful depth of color and shine, and the panels are remarkably straight. The aluminum caps on the upper bed edges protect a typically prone area from bumps and bruises, and the spray-on bedliner is a wise addition. The seller provides a comprehensive image gallery, and scrolling through the shots confirms this classic is rust-free. There is the occasional spot of dry surface corrosion on the underside but no evidence of developing steel penetration. The glass and trim are almost perfect, and this Pickup rolls on aftermarket alloy wheels.
In 1996, Ford offered F-Series buyers a choice of five engines, and this Pickup’s first owner selected the 7.5-liter V8. The fuel-injected 460ci powerplant delivers 245hp and an impressive 410 ft/lbs of torque to the road via a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The low-end torque delivery makes the F250 ideal for towing duties, and it would take a pretty imposing obstacle to bring proceedings to a halt if the driver delves into the wilderness. Potential buyers can consider this Ford a turnkey proposition. The seller confirms it received a comprehensive list of recent work, including a service, a new clutch, starter, radiator, water pump, alternator, brake rotors and pads, ball joints, suspension bushings, and a battery. That should leave the winning bidder with nothing to do but slip behind the wheel and head into the sunset.
Speaking of slipping behind the wheel, this F250 will make it a pleasant experience. The new owner receives air conditioning, power windows, power locks, power seats, power mirrors, cruise control, a tilt wheel, and a Kenwood CD player. The overall presentation is not bad for a classic of this type and age with 174,000 miles on the clock. The cloth on the driver’s seat’s outer edge shows wear, but it isn’t likely to develop holes in the near future. The remaining upholstered surfaces are in good order, and the carpet is surprisingly free from major stains, considering its relatively light shade. The dash is spotless, and the SuperCab option provides additional storage space behind the seats.
The seller listed this 1996 Ford F250 XLT SuperCab here on eBay in West Linn, Oregon. Bidding sits at $7,100, and, unsurprisingly, that figure falls short of the reserve. It has generated significant interest, and I expect the price to climb during the final two days of this auction. If you are looking for an accomplished tow vehicle or off-roader, it will fulfill those roles effortlessly. It is also an excellent option for anyone seeking a stunning Pickup with plenty of comfort features. That makes it a winner in my book.

What a gorgeous truck. …I love it ! …..😊
What happened to that steering wheel?
It has a cover on it, is that what you mean, Pecan Scandi? The oval part is a Ford logo. The seller has dozens of photos posted, if you click on the eBay link in the last paragraph, you can see every square inch of this truck, including the steering wheel.
Really nice truck, especially for the mileage. Back when one could still get a manual transmission on an F-Series.
This truck does illustrate a pet peeve: pedal pads. Maybe the seller is using the worn clutch pad and the missing brake pad as some sort of validation of the (high) mileage, but otherwise, why not replace them? They are like ten bucks.
Had the exact same truck, hauled my 8,000lb boat like it wasn’t even there, miss that truck
