The Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z (aka IROC Z28) was a performance variant of the third-generation pony car. Offered between 1985-90, the IROC-Z was named after the International Race of Champions and initially offered as an option package on the Z28. They came with an improved suspension, upgraded fuel injection, and custom graphics. This ’87 edition looks to be in super condition with less than 30,000 miles on the odometer. Located in Niles, Illinois, this Chevy is available here on eBay where bidding hasn’t yet reached the Buy It Now price of $34,995.

During its time in the Camaro lineup, the IROC-Z would represent a growing portion of the car’s sales. In 1987, 38,889 IROC-Zs were built, which was 28% of overall production. That year, the car could be powered by the Corvette’s RPO L98 350 cubic inch V8 engine which produced 225 hp. After six years in production, work on the IROC-Z ceased when Chevrolet’s contract with the International Race of Champions ran out.

The seller is the fourth owner of this Camaro as per the Experion Auto Check Report available with the muscle car. The Chevy is loaded with T-Tops, leather seating, and all sorts of other goodies to make driving it more pleasurable. Its low mileage suggests that none of its owners thought of it as anything other than a weekend car, preserving it for what the future of today might look like.

This Z28 presents well, from the body to the paint and interior. No flaws seem immediately apparent, though not that many of the photos are focused on the physical car itself. The IROC-Z cost a lot more than a regular Z28 when new, so does it hold that one today should fetch a premium over the $26,000 that Hagerty says a regular Z28 should be worth in top form?
