Great Price: 1984 Land Rover Defender
Soon, the world will be introduced to a new Land Rover Defender. Until that time, you can consider getting yourself a classic one, this 1984 Land Rover Defender, for a fraction of the price of what the new one will be. With a current bid price $15,100, the reserve is not yet met. It is located in Palmetto, Florida and has a clear title. While there is not a lot of information in the listing, you can place your bids for it here on eBay.
Powering this Land Rover is a 4 cylinder, 200TDi diesel engine, according to the listing. That is connected to a 5-speed manual transmission, located on the floor along with the 4-wheel drive selection. Even though it isn’t in the listing, one can somewhat conclude that it does run and drive. When new, the 2.5-liter engine was only good for 68 horsepower, so you won’t be going anywhere fast. Although, you could probably literally go anywhere.
Inside, the listing states that the carpet is new and the seats are leather. It certainly is not a luxury gray leather, no, it is full utilitarian, function over beauty interior. There are a few pictures of it, but they don’t show it all and what they do show is not the best. The seller does say that they can provide more photos if needed. It looks like it is only used occasionally and is going to need a good detailing.
Towards the end of the listing it says it is located in St. Petersburg, Florida, which is just across the bay from Palmetto. I’m sure this Defender could handle any road trip, or off-road trip, you are about to take it on. If you end up being the winning bidder, hopefully, it is a satisfying purchase and you can be proud of the fact that you own a piece of the history that will soon build the brand new Defender.

I’d gladly own this. One of my favorite pastimes is slow rolling back roads, and this would be a neat rig to do that in while carrying camping gear for the occasional overnighter in some remote location.
So would I. I’d buy this if I hadn’t already bought a car. I’d pay $10,000 for the Land Rover Defender. This is my favourite generation Land Rover. :)
Sorry but that’s a county not a defender or it may even be just a 110
Not sure why this is on E-Bay. It seems all Defenders on sale go through BaT.
The 200 TDi engine developed about 115 HP. The 69 HP probably relates to the original naturally aspirate engine
