Great Price! 1990 Nissan 300ZX 5-Speed

Desirable cars with a low price are rare. Values in the classic car market have been skyrocketing for the past few years. Finding this gem is truly an exception. You’re lucky to find one in any condition today. This one is in seemingly good condition, and is located in Boynton Beach, Florida, offered for only $7,500.

The 300ZX was Nissan’s flagship sports car. This redesigned Z32, followed the more boxy, rectilinear Z31 of the 1980s. Production was not huge, so they were not too common, even in the 1990s. In its’ day, the car’s direct competition was the Toyota Supra. In twin-turbo form it competed nicely against the Chevy Corvette. The rumor was that Chevy engineers carefully dissected a 300ZX when they were developing the C5. The twin-turbo version of this Nissan was world-class when it debuted.  These were quality cars, but they were not cheap when they arrived on the market. I owned a Z32 a few years back and regret selling it. Mine was solid and well put together.

Although Nissan began manufacturing them in Japan for the domestic market for the 1989 model year, its’ first year in the United States was 1990. This first-year example we have here presents a dark blue paint with a matching blue interior. The car appears to be in good condition inside and out. It is the more desirable 2+0 model. Nissan also made a 2+2 version of the 300Z in both generations. Some think that the stretched 2+2 body looks ungainly. This one comes with removeable T top roof panels. Most of these 300Zs had T tops, there was also a convertible version.

The seller states that the car runs well and there has been recent maintenance. There is a missing logo on the nose, which suggests it might have received a repaint at some point in the past. This is not the powerful twin-turbo version, but it does have the N/A V6 and three pedals going for it as well. The odometer shows a bit more than 142,000. For a 34 year-old car, this should be considered low mileage, and as mentioned, it is offered at a great price.  This could possibly even be a money-maker. What do you think?
