Deluxe Van Combo: 1961 & 1963 Corvair Greenbriers

Disclosure: This site may receive compensation from some link clicks and purchases.

This listing is for a pair of Chevy Greenbrier vans, one of which is a six-door and the other an eight-door. The six-door variant is the parts van that’s included with the $3,500 price, and the eight-door is the green van seen here. It’s fairly complete and the seller says it will turn over – but he hasn’t had it running as of yet. Find the pair of Corvair vans here on craigslist and located in Indianapolis.

Unlike the many Type 2 air-cooled owners who will pay crazy money for a set of middle bench seats, this Greenbrier has all of its bench seats present – but it’s not crazy expensive to find a replacement if yours has gone missing. That’s probably one of the more attractive reasons to restore one of these Corvair variants, as parts are plentiful and cheap, especially if you know how to network among the many enthusiasts groups that are restoring these vans.

The seller says the green van needs repairs in the front floors and that while the motor turns over with the starter, it hasn’t run. Even fewer details are offered about the parts van, other than to note it’s a six door model. Both vans come with clean Indiana titles, so you could go crazy and restore both of them if you’re a van fanatic; but really, it makes more sense to refresh the green one, use the brown van for parts, and sell off whatever is left over.

As a friendly reminder, if theGreenbriers aren’t your thing but you’re hankering for a van, we’ve got several Ford Econolines and Dodge A100 vans as part of the large Georgia collection that’s listed as Barn Finds Exclusive. You can find the post about the vans here and the latest installment of our finds here. Thanks to Barn Finds reader Pat L. for the find.

Watched a Rampside sell for 77K at B-J auction a couple of days ago. Guess I should have kept the ‘Vairs I had in the 70’s!

That 8 door is a rare item. Corvair van’s are starting to climb in price for restored models. If you can do some of the work inhouse…. there is room to make $$$ on these.

I wouldn’t mind having the 88 Caravan we owned. It’s 30 years old, like my Kenwood TS-940SAT.

Had several including this 64 that I let go in NC back in 87 and still look for to this day. Dad had a beautiful 65 he let go in Boise. Still kick myself on that one too. We did the mods and stuffed 140/4/4 in both. Someday I will find them again! Thanks Barn Finds
