EXCLUSIVE: 1950 Dodge B2 Deluxe
Asking Price: $15,550
Location: Cumberland City, TN
Title Status: Clean
Seller’s Description: This rare beauty has been in my family for over 30 years. Still has original engine and transmission, has not been chopped or customized. This is the rare B2 Deluxe, yes it has Corner Glass, it also has its tailgate, wooden bed with metal strips which was made new in the late 80’s and since we kept it inside the wood bed and body are in great shape, the inside is in good shape as well. All original dash cluster, gauges, “throttle” cable (which I used as cruise control for years). One exceptional thing about this particular design that I always loved is the “Wet Clutch”. This means that although there is 3 on the tree….you can stop using only the brake AND THE ENGINE WOULD NOT DIE…..particualarly helpful for young drivers not familiar with driving a standard shift, also helpful wbile pulling heavy loads since there was no need for fancy footwork starting from dead stop on an incline….just press foot on brake to stop and press gas to go. This model also came standard with foot starter which is fun…nothing like occasionally having to press brake, gas, and starter all at same time. It has lots of classic charm. Still has oil bath air breather, and working cowl style vent. Windows still roll up and down smoothly. The butterfly style hood is very nostalgic along with vintsge sun-visor…and since rolling this out of Dad’s barn I have not washed any dust off or removed any dirt dinner nests. This is a true barn find. Come see it and take it home.

Sweet truck! Hope that you get every penny!
You don’t see as many of these around as the other two makes, and they are nice trucks. My dad had a ‘51 with the Fluid Drive. It was no power house but it sure took the punishment.
That’s all the money in the world, “Wet” clutch = fluid drive. makes a slow truck slower. I know, my dad had a 1951 Wayfarer convertible with fluid drive. Replaced with a 1951 Dodge Diplomat 2 dr hardtop with Gyromatic = even slower.
I saw one of these many decades ago in daily use hauling scrap. It was floor shift and would pop out of gear. The solution was a rubber band cut from an inner tube, sheet metal screwed to the dash and slipped over the shift lever.
Hi Ben. There were a lot of ‘fixes’ for transmissions popping out of gear. The old school bus I rode on for too many years, the owner had a specially sized stick with a fork in one end. When he got into high he would prop that stick between the lever and the dash and it worked just fine…
I worked in a VW shop after I mustered out of the Naval Air in ’75. Beetles that jumped out of 4th gear were addressed with a bungee cord around the shifter and the seat frame 🙂
My Dad had a 54 on the farm, I had a 55 with a Desoto Hemi and 4 speed for a while but that granny 1st gear really sucked. Thing I didn’t realize early on was the lug bolts installed in different directions based on which side of the vehicle you were on. Mine was ugly as sin because the PO had painted it Robins Egg Blue and I swear they must have done it with a paint brush. I had to redo some of the bed lining but the body was otherwise solid. that 6 volt electrical system could stand a little help though (never got around to doing anything about it).
Nice old truck in decent shape too!!!
Reminds me of my brother (I had 6) but this brother had a green 55 Dodge pickup, flathead six 4 speed granny. I helped put a new clutch in it. We had to lift that tranny up from the ground and wrestle it into place. What a job. He sold the truck once we got it going. The new owner was very pleased. That was in 64 and I think he sold it for $500. How times have changed.
God bless America
Really sweet truck…….I should have planned better :)
