Winter is fast approaching, which is a time when many people will park their classics in their garages until the sun shines once again. However, some hardy souls will continue to pursue wilderness adventures or a trip to the snowfield. That could make this 1990 Jeep Wrangler the perfect weapon for those enthusiasts. It is a rock-solid survivor ready to take on anything Mother Nature can throw at it. Potential buyers should consider it a turnkey proposition that is listed exclusively with us at Barn Finds Auctions.
This Jeep is a well-preserved classic that retains its original Black paint. It presents exceptionally well for a vehicle of this age and type, with an excellent shine and no evidence of flaws beyond the occasional chip. This garage-kept survivor is rust-free, and the matching Black soft-top fits tight and is free from rips. The aluminum plate below both doors is a practical addition that eliminates the possibility of muddy boots accidentally scuffing or damaging the paint. There are no issues with the trim or badges, and the light lenses are free from cracks and other defects. The tubular bumpers add a sense of purpose, while the additional lights bolted to the vehicle’s front should turn night into day. Spotless alloy wheels wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler tires will help this classic climb every mountain and ford every stream.
Lifting the hood reveals the Jeep’s 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 117hp and 135 ft/lbs of torque. The power feeds to the road via a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range Command-Trac NP231 transfer case. This Wrangler should happily cruise on the open roads at highway speeds, but the smooth torque delivery across the engine’s rev range makes these vehicles ideal for off-road adventures. The low curb weight of 2,930 lbs means it will be a surprisingly lively performer that doesn’t feel big or cumbersome in tight locations. The owner indicates the Jeep has a genuine 116,000 miles on the clock, and the unbreakable nature of the drivetrain components means it should offer the winning bidder years of reliable service and an enjoyable ownership experience.
The Jeep’s interior is a model of practicality featuring the optional rear seat. The vinyl seat upholstery will repel mud and other nasty substances, while the rubber floor mats make cleaning after a weekend’s adventure a walk in the park. The interior is in excellent condition, with no evidence of wear or damage to the upholstered surfaces. The dash is spotless, the pad is crack-free, and the gauges feature clear lenses and crisp markings. One peril with off-road adventures is that there is always the possibility of a vehicle accidentally finding itself shiny-side down. This Wrangler has that eventuality covered courtesy of the sturdy rollbar to improve occupant safety. The chunky wheel will make the driver’s life more comfortable on long journeys, and the JVC AM/FM radio/CD player and Pioneer speakers should help relieve boredom as the miles roll beneath this Jeep’s tires.
Some classics are designed to blend into the scenery, but this 1990 Jeep Wrangler is designed to tackle that scenery head-on. Its presentation is impressive, and it couldn’t help but turn heads and attract attention for the right reasons. The efficiency of the four-cylinder engine means it could be a practical daily driver. However, there is a “bigger picture” aspect that is worth considering. Buying a shiny new Wrangler will cost at least $35,000, and the buyer must deal with the double-whammy of inherent depreciation and the impact that scratches and scrapes might have on future value. Those issues would not be a concern with this gem, and slipping behind the wheel would cost a fraction of the price of the new Jeep. That makes this solid survivor worth a closer look.

How about a description the soft cover.
Does it have a hard top that comes with it.
Frame and floor pan pics please.
Also unless you have no taste in the appearance of your Jeep, diamond plate =rust/rot cover up.
🎙 Paging Howard
About 2900 miles away, no such thing as a cheap flight from my city so I would have to drive 2.5 +/- hours to a airport to fly for $475 bucks then have the fun of driving it home its one to watch and see where the reserve cracks
I had the same Jeep 1997,color and drivetrain same also.No rust on mine but it was a dog, could not get out of its own way and not good on gas.I’m just a hour away from this one, might check it out for a 304 V8 swap.
I’m inclined to agree with RW. Swanky black glop freshly applied to bottom side smacks of a rust cover up job.
