BF Auction: 7k Mile 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500!
Hindsight is 20:20 vision. I would be willing to wager that every classic car enthusiast looks back at a particular vehicle and wishes they’d bought one when the opportunity arose. If you harbor those feelings towards the 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, this is your chance to right that wrong. This one is a gem with only 7,328 miles on the clock. It features a range of creature comforts and is in as-new condition. It needs a new home, with the seller listing the Silverado exclusively with us at Barn Finds Auctions.
Chevrolet’s First Generation Silverado hit the showrooms in 1998, with our feature vehicle rolling off the line in 2004. It has been garage-kept its entire life and has never seen rain or snow, helping to explain why it is in as-new condition. Its stunning Redfire paint holds an incredible depth of color and shine, reflecting its surroundings like the best mirror money can buy. The panels are laser-straight, but the vehicle’s beauty is more than skin-deep. The underside is as clean as the exterior, with no surface corrosion or penetrating rust. The Silverado would look at home on a showroom floor or in a museum, such is its level of preservation. Those enthusiasts who missed out on one of these trucks when they were new can comfort themselves by knowing that this is as close as they can possibly get to owning a brand-new Pickup that is nineteen years old. The color-coded cap is a wise move for security, and the plastic bedliner guarantees the steel and paint will remain spotless. Wandering around this classic confirms that the trim, chrome, and glass are flawless. This Silverado rolls on its original 16″ alloy wheels that are free from stains or other physical damage.
For potential buyers seeking a Pickup with genuine load-carrying capacity, this 2004 Silverado delivers. Lifting the hood reveals the 5.3-liter Vortec V8, producing 285hp and 325 ft/lbs of torque. Those ponies feed to the road via the rear wheels and a four-speed automatic transmission. Power steering and four-wheel ABS provide an effortless driving experience and an extra layer of safety. The available power and torque lead me to believe this beauty would make effective use of its hitch receiver as a competent tow vehicle. This Pickup’s engine bay presents perfectly, which is unsurprising since it has only clocked 7,328 miles throughout its life. Considering the bulletproof reputation of the drivetrain components, that makes it barely broken in! That means this Silverado should offer years of reliable motoring to its new owner. It runs and drives perfectly and should be considered a turnkey proposition.
If you thought this Silverado’s exterior was impressive, its interior continues that theme. This aspect of any classic can tell its true story, with neglect or abuse evident in worn or damaged upholstery and carpet. There are no such issues here because everything looks flawless. The Gray cloth and vinyl seat covers are free from wear, with the same true for the remaining upholstered surfaces. Pale carpet shades are prone to problems, but not here. There is no crumbling plastic, no signs of UV exposure, and no aftermarket additions. The versatility of this classic is demonstrated by its seating capacity, with room on board for six people. Access to the back seat is via ultra-cool rear-hinged suicide doors. There was a time when vehicles of this type represented motoring at its most basic, with many older Pickups struggling to offer items like a heater. This one demonstrates how far the market has progressed because the occupants will be pampered to the max. They receive dual front airbags, air conditioning, manual dual-zone climate control, power windows, power locks, a power driver’s seat, power mirrors, cruise control, a leather-wrapped tilt wheel, and a premium AM/FM radio CD player with an auxiliary function. That makes this the perfect choice for an enjoyable cross-country adventure.
Nearly two decades have passed since this 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 drove off the lot, but you wouldn’t know it. This stunning survivor retains its youthful good looks at a time when most of its siblings look battered and bruised. It would suit a meticulous new owner, especially one still smarting from not driving one off the showroom floor in 2004. It needs nothing, offering all the comfort and performance you would find in a new Silverado. The difference is that the 2023 model will suffer from depreciation the moment it hits the road, whereas the value of this one should climb if the new owner treats it respectfully. I can’t think of better reasons to submit a bid. Can you?

If I had a choice between a 2004 mint condition under 10,000 and a pre- own 2022 or 2021 low mileage manufacturer certified. I take the 04. I wish it was 4×4 model. Less computers and sensors. Great engine and trans. Two things I would do to it. Weather Tech the inside and Mud guards. This is the best I ever seen. I would bring this to car cruise and hang out. Love the cab in back. Who needs a 4 door! 😂I hope the person who buys this take care of it like the previous owner and enjoys it. 🐻🇺🇸
I think these years / models will probably prove to be more reliable than the new stuff. I have a 2005 Sierra with close to 200k miles. It’s been pretty reliable. Sure, these have some common issues with gauges and electrical stuff, blower motors, etc that commonly go bad, but overall pretty reliable. The transmission gets bad mouthed a lot, and they’re kind of hit and miss on reliability. But, you can say the same thing for the new models with the 10 speeds.
Not sure, maybe it changed with this generation but I think the six stud wheels would indicate 4 wheel drive, probably push button on the dash.
Chevy went 6-hole on all 1500 trucks in ’99 and SUV’s in ’00. The ’88-’98 series was 5-hole on 2WD, 6-hole on 4WD.
I scanned the well written advertisement a few times. Is this 2WD?
I’m fairly certain it is 2wd. All of the 4wd’s had stickers denoting such. Either “4 X 4” like mine or “Z71” if so equipped.
Nothing but a pocket where the 4wd control would be. Reminds me of the Z66 Avalanche a guy used to have here in town.
Very nice 👌
Yes, there are no buttons on the dash where they would be
Not quite a classic but on its way. Nice level of trim and features to be an enjoyable truck. When these came out I didn’t care for the headlamp shape but looking at what has followed it now strikes me as a good looking truck.
I’ll admit, I think the previous body style (1999-2002 or 2003, not certain), look better than these that have come to be known as the “cat eye” Silverado’s.
I think someone is going to get a great PU for that price, I’m surprised a used Car dealer hasn’t snatched it up already!
This is a beauty, and I wish I had the money and the space.
Definitely clean. And still just as ugly as the day it was new.
I plan on being buried in my ’04 Z-71. But if I could get kind of cash for it, I just might reconsider. 22K would buy one nice casket
Nice vehicle. What kind of price would it take to skip the bidding and buy the vehicle right away?
Send your best price to my email and I will look into a possibility of the purchase. Depending on how high I would have to go I would be interested, I don’t do bidding. People with auction fever turn me off. Give me your buy it now price and I will consider if I can afford it. An auction doesn’t always meet what someone’s buy it now price would be.
A good, reliable vehicle. The worst characteristic problem these had was the stepper motors in the instrument cluster going bad.
That and the blower motor resistor is going to melt. But, those aren’t big issues. Just a mild pain in the rear.
the sad thing is the original owner sure didn’t get much use out of it. 7000 miles in 20 years.
A friend of mine does this to his nice vehicles and then drives around in a used Toyota.
Sure make good used cars for someone else when they pass away.
My lease buy price for my 2021 SLT Sierra with most options is $36,000. Mine will have less than 20k miles.
definitely 2wd. 4wd VIN would start 2CEK… not 2CEC.
Also, this one is pretty standard optioned. No center console, No premium sound system, standard AC/heating system
I agree. I was out at $15K, and that was too much. Good luck to the new owners. Hopefully, they have a specific function for the truck and will get years of use out of it.
Also Vair Nut, what do you think of this observation?
If you click on the “About BF Auctions” button, one of the points stated is, “We will reject any submissions that do not include high-quality photos and a detailed description…”
I don’t see ANY description that I think came from the seller. All I see is an advertisement from BF Auctions. I see the battery is from 2016. Is that mentioned (will need replaced immediately)? Are the tires original? If so, true enough they hardly have any miles on them, but is there any dry rot? They’re 19 years old!
it is most likely the owner is bumping up the bids or his freinds are doing it i would give 14,500.00 cause there always going to be things the truck is going to need it is a 20 year truck even if it only has 7,000 things still wear out
Completely agree!
Have been a Ford truck man till I bought ’03 Silverado Z71 4WD in ’09 with 54k miles for $12k. Now at 160k and I love this thing. The older ones are great trucks and I am keeping it till the wheels fall off.
Nice truck, but I would buy and drive. What’s the point of buying it and sitting on it in the hopes of it gaining value in the future for that alone. What are you going to do with the money after your gone. Enjoy it now…while you’re here.
