Barn Finds At Lucky Auctions’ Fall Classic!
Where has the summer gone? Fall is almost here and while that’s a bit of a bummer, at least it means cool evenings for cruising around in a classic! It also means it’s time for Lucky Auctions annual Fall Classic Auction and this year they have some great barn finds that are going to be crossing the auction block this coming weekend, August 25th and 26th. One of the more interesting finds present has to be this Lotus Europa Twin Cam. It was recently rescued from a barn and cleaned up extremely well! Hopefully, with just a little more work you can have it back on the street while the weather is still nice! We’ll talk more about it and some of the other finds below, but you can find more info on this event here on Lucky Old Cars.
As you can see, the Europa cleaned up nicely! The big valve Twin Cam engine is said to run nicely, but the engine bay could use a good detailing. The interior is going to need work but is all there. This Lotus might not appeal to everyone, but if you like unique fun to drive sport cars, it’s definitely worth a closer look!
The Lotus isn’t the only unique classic present at this auction. This 1967 Amphicar is about as unique and odd as they come. It’s not just an Amphicar, it’s one that’s been modified with a Buick 215 V8 and is claimed to be the car that Hot Wheels modeled their Boulevard Amphicar after. Whether that’s truly the case or not, this is still one interesting machine. I just wonder which it improves more, the Amphicar’s performance on the road or in the water?
If you like your finds to be a bit more mainstream, this Toronado barn find might be of more interest to you. It was parked after covering 98k miles about 20 years ago but looks to be in decent condition. With a new battery and some fresh gas, the engine fired right up. The tires are old need to be replaced and it needs to be cleaned up, but other than that it could prove to be a nice driver as is!
It looks like there are lots of interesting finds up for grabs at this years Fall Classic, like this Rumrunner’s V8 powered Volvo 244! So, if you are in the Tacoma, Washington area this weekend, be sure to attend. And if you can’t make it, you can still bid online! So, which of these finds would you want to have in your garage this fall?

That shine in the trunk looks interesting!
Can you imagine my dismay when I found out that the guys behind Cosmopolitan Motors are principals in this auction – so it goes doubly – Caveat Emptor!! It was so sad to see the Lemay collection people sully themselves with this connection.
at first glance thought this was somebody’s collection, it is several somebodies , those I looked at seem to be in v/g condition , probably will go for prices in the stratosphere
Looking at the Amphicar, I think the only performance tests are going to be submarine races.
Best comeback of the day!
I like the Chrysler Newport Resto Mod.
The only competitive activity with the Amphicar would be submarine races. I don’t think I would want to risk putting it in the water…
