Barn Finds on the Road Game
BF reader Steve A. just sent in a few photos collected by him and a few of his friends. They play a sort of game where they take photos of what they assume are barn finds being transported to their new homes. They then share their photos with each other, compare them, and speculate about each car’s back-story and where it might have end up. Whoever spotted the best car wins. Now this sounds like a game we could get into!
Not everyone has the time and means to go dig through old barns, but this game allows you some of the thrill of the chase without all the hassle. All you need is a camera, a trip across town, and a bit of luck. To make the game a bit more interesting and challenging we think it needs to be taken up a level. Let’s add identifying the year, make, model, and trim package to the game for some extra difficulty. We don’t want to spoil the game for the rest of you, so we will let you guys identify each of the cars Steve sent us.
Next time you’re out on the road and see what you think is a barn find, field find, or something that you think is just plain cool, please snap a photo and send it in. Just remember, if you’re driving, be sure to stop or have a passenger take the photo. We don’t want anyone causing an accident!
Special thanks to Steve and his friends for letting us in on their game! Be sure to send in your own barn find sightings. Good luck to everyone, be safe, and let the games begin!

72 Pontiac Le Mans, late 70’s Z28 Camero , 60 Chev Impala, the last one is before my time so I don’t know.
Dang, you beat me. 1937 Pontiac?
last one is approximately 1937-38-39
likely General Motors, tail lights might be LaSalle?
My friends and I take the same kind of pics and share them, but we did not think to make a game out of it. That’s awesome !
Last two are a 1960 Chevrolet Impala and a 1937-1939? Hudson/Essex?
Last one I’d say Hudson, they dropped the Essex in 33
I had a 72 Lemans just like that in High School.
C’mon Jesse, Don’t leave us hanging! This post is about to leave the first page and will be consigned to interweb history.
I did not recall Chevrolet having the long-tail 2-door coupe in 1960. Our family had a ’60 wagon with the rear-facing 3rd bench seat. I’m pretty sure that the tail gate opened like a door. The outstanding thing about that car was the copper metallic paint. Quite avant-garde for my conservative dad.
I really like the proportions of this coupe. Wonder if it was the basis for a NASCAR shape? :-)
The last one is a Packard. Ck the tail lights, the front fender and the front edge of the hood line.
