Barn Find In Blue: 1967 Dodge Charger
While the winter blues start to settle in Youngstown, Ohio, this blue 1967 Dodge Charger, specifically located in Hubbard, will hopefully spark excitement to the possibilities that are ahead. Currently, it sits in a barn, out of the elements and is claimed to have no rust. There is no title for the car and there is no VIN listed either. Although, there is a photo of some numbers on the door jam. Mileage is documented at 42,000. The seller is seeking $3,900. Thank you, Paul G., for the tip. You can view more on Craigslist.
It is nice to see photos of the engine to get an idea of what you are up against. The listing is lacking in details about the car, but they do say it is a 383 cubic-inch V8. Everyone’s favorite description of ran when parked, is communicated in the listing. There do not appear to be any signs of animal residence in the engine bay. Depending on how much effort you put into cars to get them started, a few belts and hoses should be on your list to replace. It might be good to syphon the gas and fill the tank with fresh fuel before trying to fire it up.
The interior photo provided shows things in decent condition. Yes, the seats are torn, but all the trim and accessories appear to be there. It is filthy and require a deep clean of most things. Other things will need replaced, but overall, it is not a terrible interior. It would help to have more photos. If this car is not something you want to try to get road worthy, especially because of the title, then the parts alone might be worth the asking price.
The missing title is a tough situation for this car. It might make a great track car candidate. Part out all the original parts possible and then build it into a drag car would be one of the first options on my list. It could also be a great show car for a restaurant or place of business. Paint some racing decals on it and put different rims on it, and you have yourself a stock car imitator. If a car has no title, it is time to get creative. What would you do with it?

Titles are not needed in many states, I can buy this and register this Tuesday with a bill of sale.
OK Mark, you’re talking big, so tell us exactly how you will register this car in Florida. Or Ohio. Go ahead, I want to know.
It ain’t going anywhere in Pennsylvania without a title either.
I have done a few on bill of sale vin documents from Sheriff in Ga. Then register in Ga. And then sell to Ohio residents where they only have to have vin checked and title issues. No brag just fact. But you do need to know the system takes about 2 days.
I live in Alabama, and recently registered my V8 Corvair I have been building for a few years. I had the sheriff do a VIN verification, since it wasn’t road worthy, brought the bill of sale, the VIN verification and the title from Arizona, They didn’t even want to see the title. Same story with my 67 Cutlass, my 65 GTO, and my 70 El Camino SS.

And this is the problem…bill of sale in SC; registration is good in NH and AL et al; no title required in CT; nothing-doing in OH and FL.
I have been beating this drum for a long time…somehow there needs to be a standardized system for old cars so that cars with lost titles can be bought/sold/registered/titled across state lines without so much GD red tape!
Not happening in NJ either.
I never understood why people who own a car don’t just go to the tag office and get a duplicate title…unless they purchased it and never transferred it to their name…which in my state, is illegal…love this 1st generation chargers, and love the color…
It’s cool to me that these don’t command the money of the later chargers!!! Maybe someone can get in a cool old mopar for a good price!!!

One of the least expensive old Mopars I’ve seen listed here in a while. Not a bad ride with the warm 383, the body style is an absolute turn off for some.
Hubbard Ohio! Two stoplights! Don’t blink when passing through. I bought my 1995 Corvette from a nice gentleman in Hubbard.

Like Troy said, not my favorite body style but less than 4000 for a classic I won’t likely see a twin of at the stoplight? Kind of enticing and in NY, if it’s older than a ‘73 it’s not too hard to register. Doesn’t look like like more than a 1 winter project from here if all you want is to get it cleaned up and running
Great Car!! Here in NY we are lucky in regards to registering w/o a title .I bought a 1939 Buick from out of state,no title or VIN , .All I needed was the bill of sale and a piece of paper with a pencil rubbing of the numbers on the frame. I got the registration on the spot!!
The parts alone on this are worth $4000 easy. Now let me see if I can find a covered place to put this….

While not the beautiful 68 and 69 Charger design, it is far better looking than hideous new Charger with those ugly headlamps. Not so easy register this car in Pennsylvania. Go through the engibe. New tires. Buff paint and drive.
Thought these were God -Awful ugly for many decades, Then something happened and they are really pretty unique. I think i saw/or red up on a hemi car, WOW , anyway there is one on google with a superbird/Daytona wing, and to me ( most important) it looks really really good, different
A friend of mine bought one new. I was red. He never drove it much and sat in his yard for along time. Then a couple of years ago. It dissappeard. I never heard anything what happened to it. He had a son that lived in Gaston,N.C..The Richard Doss passed away a short time ago.He might have came and got it.
typical 1980’s repaint – that blue ended up on soooo many cars back then ! another pet peeve ,the under hood panelsshould be the same color as the car !
