Seller’s Description: WOW!!! is the best way to describe this spectacular old car. This Studebaker is a 1949 Champion Regal Deluxe Starlight Coupe. Barn Find?? Well, actually it was an airplane hangar in Oklahoma. This car had an outstanding restoration a number of years ago and then found its way to the hangar where it sat without being enjoyed for a few years. We rescued the car, got it running, and now have it available for your enjoyment. We have gone through the brakes system entirely with new hoses, master cylinder, and wheel cylinders rebuilt. We even rebuilt the Hill Holder cylinder so that works properly as well. The lights and horn all work as they should and any frayed or corroded wiring has been replaced. Both heaters (yes there are two) one for the floor and one for the windshield are working properly. The wipers are vacuum controlled and do not currently work. The carburetor was removed and received a deep cleaning, and then was rebuilt with ethanol-safe parts so you can get gas anywhere. The car runs like a top with no issues at all. It still retains its original 6-volt positive ground electrical system. Even the Horn works!! This car is equipped with electric overdrive but we have not tested it. The original radion is present and lights up but does not play. The transmission is manual 3 speed on the column and shifts smoothly. The original air cleaner is missing but a substitute is in place. The floors are ROCK SOLID and this car has NO RUST. The frame is in perfect condition and even the spare tire well is rust-free. The older restoration does show signs of needing to be updated as there are a couple of areas of crazing in the paint (pictured) and a couple of areas where there is filler at the body seams have cracked (also pictured) The interior is excellent with very little sagging or drooping. The gas tank and lines have been properly cleaned as well. This car presents beautifully and the paint shines really nicely. I would say it is a 2 footer meaning you have to be closer than2 feet to really notice the flaws. This car is sooooo nice and I have been very torn about just keeping it for myself. It is not perfect but it would take very little to make it perfect. It is not quite show quality but certainly far better than just driver quality. See it for yourself to appreciate this wonderful piece of American history and engineering. THIS CAR WILL NOT DISAPPOINT YOU!!! As stated it is not perfect but it is priced accordingly. Examples that are barely nicer than this one are selling for $10,000 more than we are asking. The price is firm and this car deserves it. Discounted price for Barnfinds.com users
