What ever he’s smoking it must be strong stuff.
That would not be a Powerglide. It is a Super Turbine 300, a completely different transmission with few if any interchangeable parts.
The author of this article goofed up the terminology, not the seller of the car. The article on the Saturn Gold 4 speed ’72 Cutlass Supreme the other day had a few gaffes like that too.

All these special models will pull some kind of money, even a tame GS 350 but the whole rarity factor is overrated. Buicks were never overwhelming sellers in this class to begin with.
How dare they sell a California model in Alabama or Texas.
It must be taken back to its namesake.

I grew up in a ’69 GS California and have been watching this auction closely. Love the original documentation and few nice options (HD suspension, rallye interior w/ wood wheel and A/C). Would like to have this one alongside my three 70-72 Oldsmobiles (two are factory 455s) and ’72 Stingray roadster. Also, the author of the article is one who made the errors about the 350 big block and the trans, not the seller of the car.
What’s the value of a 68 GS california looking to buy one but the trunk is rusted out and needs some interior work also but runs good all original still.
