Cheap Pair of Rusty 1965 Ford Mustangs

Disclosure: This site may receive compensation from some link clicks and purchases.

The hot new Ford Mustang was the sales phenom of the mid-1960s. From 1964 to 1966, Ford built nearly 1.3 million of them, so they could be seen on practically any street corner in the USA. Mustangs produced in calendar 1964 and through the Summer of 1965 were all titled as ’65s. The seller has a rusty pair of 1965 Mustangs that could have been built anywhere during these 18 months. They both look like parts cars, so it’s unlikely that anyone will try to make one good vehicle out of two – but it could happen!

Only one of these two cars appears to have an engine and transmission, which the seller identifies as the venerable 289 cubic inch V8 with a C4 automatic transmission. The other Ford could have had this same setup at some point, but that probably doesn’t matter now. One Mustang looks to have been painted gold while the other was black, but they have mix-and-match body panels now, if at all.

Perhaps the engine and transmission can have a second life and some of the interior pieces, as well (like the black bucket seats).  We’re told that all the glass is good, and the doors open and close properly, so some rigidity is left in one or more of these vintage ponies. So you’ll have to pick and choose what will work for your other ’65 Mustang project.

Located in Jacksonville, Florida, this duo may be the bargain of the week as the seller is only asking $750 (for the pair, we think). There are no titles with either machine, but if all you want is parts, that’s probably okay. Bring one or more trailers to take all this home where it’s listed here on Facebook Marketplace.

Doesn’t the “E” molding on the rear quarter indicate that it’s a ’66?

Gas cap, gauges and grill all point to 66 as well.

I wish I would have left a couple our families old cars, sitting out in the field, rotting away. So I could put ’em up on FakeBooks.
