Success Story: 1962 Halsey-Crosley
Back in June we featured this odd little car. It’s a custom built Crosley that looks like someone’s twisted interpretation of a ’57 Chevy. Well, one of readers purchased it and has spent the last couple months researching the car’s history. We already knew that it had won a few car shows, but George was able to track down the original owner’s sons and they provided him with more details about the build and some video footage of it driving around. Supposedly this little guy even ran a couple of passes at a drag strip where it won its class! George has since sold it to a micro car collector, but he wanted to let us know that another classic was saved from the crusher because of our efforts. Thanks for sharing George and we wish the next owner luck with the restoration of this unique Crosley!

This is just great! Nice to see another “success” story.
Did it come with the famous sheet metal engine?
Looks like an amphicar in many ways, this one will definitely not float.
That thing is downright adorable. Every time I see a Crosley engine at a swapmeet it takes a great deal of willpower not to buy it and carry it back home. They’re just so darned cute and tiny, like a real world miniature engine model. This car looks like it would be an absolute riot to putter around town in!
Cool!
To me it closely resembles the “fire chief” pedal car of the ’50s.
